Service bulletins for the 2021 Ford F-150
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 55100 | 2026-09-01. Service bulletin. SEATS; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. For Various Ford and Lincoln vehicles, if diagnostics lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion cover J-clips, lower-level service parts are now available. Use service part W709919-S901 if the J-clip is completely detached from the seat cover and W715386-S424 if the clip is still partially attached. It is not necessary to replace the seat cover if only the J-clip is separating from the cover. Refer to PTS Home > Technical Assistance > Technical Support Videos > Section 501- Body and Paint > Seat J-Clips. For claiming, use causal parts from list below and labor operations 63100A and 63100A5. Some 2021-2026 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a concern of the windshield wipers not parking in the correct position on the windshield and/or over-traveling. This may be due to incorrect alignment of the wiper pivot arm on the wiper linkage assembly. Wiper pivot arms may or may not be equipped with an alignment key. Alignment keys are a manufacturing aid and are not needed for proper alignment and operation. In some instances, it may be necessary to remove this alignment key to achieve proper alignment. Replacement of the wiper pivot arm, due to a missing alignment key is a not warrantable. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-16. |

| SSM55059 | 2026-08-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine, 2020-2026 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.3L hybrid engine, and 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with a 3.0L EcoBoost hybrid engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A1E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may be unable to enter electric-only drive modes as expected during normal drive cycles. This may be due to the belt integrated starter generator (BISG). For vehicles with this condition, follow the necessary Pinpoint Test in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06 for DTC P0A1E and repair the vehicle as directed. Note that previous replacement of the BISG does not negate the need for subsequent BISG replacements if directed to do so by the appropriate Pinpoint Test diagnostics. Engineering is investigating this BISG quality concern. Monitor PTS for updates regarding this investigation. |

| SSM 55031 | 2026-07-28. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration |
| SSM 55028 | 2026-07-28. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2026 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a U2100:00 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for initial configuration incomplete stored in the trailer control module (TRM). This may be due to the vehicle having a Ford accessory trailer brake kit installed without being programmed following the included instructions. If the vehicle was built with minor feature code FDDAA and a trailer brake gain switch is present in the stock location in the instrument panel, a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit has been installed on the vehicle. If a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit is present, download and run the "TRM - Towbar Configuration" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). |
