Service bulletin SSM55059
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine, 2020-2026 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 3.3L hybrid engine, and 2020-2023 Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with a 3.0L EcoBoost hybrid engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0A1E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may be unable to enter electric-only drive modes as expected during normal drive cycles. This may be due to the belt integrated starter generator (BISG). For vehicles with this condition, follow the necessary Pinpoint Test in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-06 for DTC P0A1E and repair the vehicle as directed. Note that previous replacement of the BISG does not negate the need for subsequent BISG replacements if directed to do so by the appropriate Pinpoint Test diagnostics. Engineering is investigating this BISG quality concern. Monitor PTS for updates regarding this investigation.

A recall listed here may apply to some of the same vehicles. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle.
| SSM 55220 | 2026-10-12. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2026 Nautilus and 2025-2026 Explorer/Aviator/Expedition/Navigator vehicles may experience Android Auto connection or general Bluetooth pairing concerns for both Android and IOS after an APIM software update. This may be due to the APIM software. To temporarily correct the issue:<br /><br /> * For Android Auto related issues: Clear Android Auto app storage in the center display screen. Vehicle Settings > Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Clear Storage. <br /> * For general Bluetooth connectivity issues: Clear Contacts Storage app storage in the center display screen. Vehicle Settings > Apps > Uncheck hide system apps > Contacts Storage > Clear Storage.<br /><br /> If the condition persists, perform a master reset from the center display screen, remove the vehicle from the phone, then re-pair the device.<br /><br /> If the condition continues to persist, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article.<br /><br /> If the condition is resolved, inform customers that engineering is currently working on a permanent solution |

| TSB 26-2325 | 2026-10-05. Service bulletin. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit a front courtesy lamp that is inoperative. This may be due to a concern with the front courtesy lamp light module. |

| SSM 55208 | 2026-09-30. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2026 F-150, 2025 Explorer/Aviator, 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator, or 2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:43:48 stored in the body control module (BCM) when performing a Self-Test. This DTC sets due to an internal BCM timing issue during the self-test process. This specific code has no customer impact and does not cause any drivability concerns or warning messages. Clearing DTC U211B:43:48, reprogramming the BCM, or replacing the BCM is unlikely to prevent this DTC from setting. This DTC does not trigger a condition covered under warranty. Note: This guidance only applies to U211B with the specific failure byte 43 in status 48. Any other trusted real-time operation network (TRON) DTCs or different failure bytes associated with U211B are still applicable and technicians must follow Workshop Manual (WSM) normal diagnostics for those DTCs. |
| TSB 26-2408 | 2026-09-30. Service bulletin. This bulletin supersedes 26-2309. Reason For Update: update the Model section to remove Aviator 10R80, update the Parts list to add 3.3L to W520514-S440, and add L1MZ-7Z490-G valve body separator plate for Aviator. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model statement above may exhibit at least one of the following conditions: * Harsh 3-4, 4-5 upshifts * Harsh 5-3, 4-3 downshifts * Harsh reverse engagements These symptoms may be worse when cold. This may be due to the F clutch friction plates brinelling into the clutch and planetary container cylinder (7B177). |
| SSM 55172 | 2026-09-21. Service bulletin. Some 2025 Aviator/Explorer/Police Interceptor Utility vehicles may exhibit a "Steering Assist Fault Service Required" message and diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) C1110:56 and/or U3000:96 stored in the power steering control module (PSCM) after programming. This may be due to a calibration mismatch in the PSCM which has been resolved in the Ford database. If DTC C1110:56 is stored in a replacement PSCM after completing programmable module installation (PMI), start a new session using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool then run the "PSCM - Programmable Module Installation (PMI)" application again. When FDRS asks if the original module is installed, select "No". If DTC C1110:56 is stored in the original PSCM after performing the PSCM configuration, start a new session using the latest software version of the FDRS scan tool, then download and run the "PSCM - Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) Software Update" application. To clear DTC U3000:96 from the PSCM, download and run the "PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control |
