SSM 526562024-07-03. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2024 F-150/Bronco and 2023-2024 Escape/F-Super Duty vehicles built with SYNC 4 require a connected phone with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active to enable voice interactions and use of the steering wheel voice control button. This is due to the affected vehicles not having built in voice interactions capability. Vehicles with built in voice interaction capability can be identified as also being equipped with the built in connected navigation feature which includes a navigation tab on the center display screen. Diagnostics should only be performed for voice interactions on vehicles equipped with built in voice interaction capability or with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay active.

Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles equipped with a factory soft top roof may exhibit a headliner that is detaching from the soft top material. This may be due to the factory installation process. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reattach the headliner or replace the soft top roof material.
SSM 525742024-06-06. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms after all currently available accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software updates have been performed. - General system performance, stability, and intermittent system reboots. - Intermittent Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto function. - Phone related concerns with intermittent No Audio or Static. - Navigation/global positioning system (GPS) related concerns through CarPlay and Android Auto. - Alexa function consistency and stability. These symptoms may be due to the software in the APIM. Replacing the APIM will not resolve these symptoms for the customer. Before returning the vehicle to the customer, review the procedures within Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 and ensure the latest APIM software is installed. Refer to General Service Bulletin (GSB) 23-7146 for help determining the latest available level of software. IMPORTANT: some module software updates will only display as available on Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) after prerequisite modules are updated. This may require the technician to update certain modules multiple times during the service visit, before the latest APIM software is accessible in FDRS. If symptoms continue after latest APIM software has been installed, inform customers that Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by Q4 2024 on F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Mustang, Escape, Corsair, Expedition, Navigator, Bronco, Mustang, and 2023-2024 F-Super Duty. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. This may be due to a loose nut on the turbo actuator arm causing an under boost condition
SSM 524762024-05-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.
SSM 524702024-05-03. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may experience a repeat loss of window initialization which results in a loss of short drop and/or one-touch up and one-touch down feature operation. This may be due to a recent short drop enhancement that is contained in the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) software. To correct this condition, update the DDM and PDM to the latest software levels then download and run the Loss Of Power Window Initialization Concern application using Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). When prompted by the application for a password, use DSPWR-308. If the vehicles DDM and PDM had software part numbers ending with CN or CR when it arrived, advise the customer that the vehicle will no longer exhibit a short drop event to all door windows anytime the vehicle is unlocked using the remote keyless entry (RKE), accessory keyless entry keypad, or the interior door unlock switch.

If there are no messages, run the appropriate diagnosticpinpoint test found in the Workshop Manual (WSM). Follow the steps in the pinpoint test. Make sure to note thetitle of the guided routine, using the correct one for the vehicle's symptom or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) iscritical. Depending on the outcome of the pinpoint test, a repair validation code (RVC) may be generated eitherin the pinpoint test or Guided Routine. If the vehicle concern still exists after following the pinpoint tests orguided routine, then a manual RVC can be generated using the RVC Assist Form. A manual RVC can only begenerated once the above process has been followed.
SSM 523642024-04-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles built on or before 9-Jul-2023 may have new version software in their driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) that contains noticeable enhancements to the window short drop operation. This software level can be identified in the DDM and PDM as Software Part Number MU5T-14C064-CR or later. This software was released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) starting in September 2023 if the vehicle's connectivity was enabled in the vehicle settings. Vehicles with this new software will exhibit a short drop event to all door windows anytime the vehicle is unlocked using the remote keyless entry (RKE), accessory keyless entry keypad, or the interior door unlock switch. The short drop function will return to the UP position when a lock input is received from these same inputs. For vehicles equipped with passive entry, a short drop event will not activate when a door is unlocked by placing a hand on an exterior door handle. 2023-2024 Bronco vehicles built on and after 10-Jul-2023 received this software from the factory.
TSB 24-20862024-04-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equiped with a 2.7L engine may exhibit an ilumintated MIL with DTC P0456 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the software level of the PCM and has no effect on vehicle operation.
TSB 24-20802024-04-03. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS; STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. This article supersedes 23-2024 to update parts list to include rivets. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a factory soft top roof may exhibit a headliner that is detaching from the soft top material. This may be due to the factory installation process.
SSM 523422024-03-20. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022-2024 Broncos Raptors built on and before 13-Feb-2024 and 2021-2024 Broncos equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with ignition system DTC(s) P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0357, P2303, P2306, P2309, P2312, P2318, P2304, P2307, P2310, P2313, P2319, and/or P2322 set in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to incorrect cylinder to DTC mapping within the PCM. This means the DTCs listed may set against the incorrect cylinder. Even though the cylinder to DTC mapping is incorrect in the PCM, the presence of these DTCs means that a real ignition system concern is present that requires diagnosis and repair. Prior to performing a pinpoint test for one of the listed DTCs, it will be necessary to identify the correct cylinder that has the issue. Do this by using the Ford diagnosis and repair system (FDRS) to perform a cylinder power balance test. If the results show two cylinders dropping out, begin diagnosing the ignition system components for the cylinder that is dropping out and not setting an ignition related DTC. Due to the incorrect cylinder to DTC mapping
SSM 523352024-03-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. For 2015-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with turbocharged engines and customer concern of an engine oil leak, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00 for oil leak inspection and testing methods. Ford has evaluated turbochargers replaced for oil leak symptoms and although oil may collect on the external surface of a turbocharger, it is extremely rare for a turbocharger assembly to be the root cause of the oil leak. Careful inspection of the turbocharger oil feed and drain tubes should be performed along with the recommended WSM procedures as needed. Warranty claims for turbocharger replacement going forward will be assessed.
SSM 523282024-03-20. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT. This may be due to a lack of memory space available to perform the APIM software update. If it is a memory concern, the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will provide an option to delete the voice application. Re-enter the module programming and when prompted, do not select first option - SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update, select the second option - Delete Voice Application(s) From Module. Once deleted, run the SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update as directed, this will update the software and automatically reload the voice app. If the voice delete option is not available, continue with normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual, Section 418.
SSM 523142024-03-20. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. During service and repair requiring removal and replacement of a crankshaft bolt and/or crankshaft damper, achieving proper torque of the crankshaft pulley bolt is critical. Incorrect torque may allow the bolt to loosen resulting in the timing gear breaking and engine damage. Replacement of the bolt is critical to the repair and accurately following the installation procedure in the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section, 303-01 is extremely important. The bolt torque procedure can be found in the crankshaft front seal removal and installation procedure or in the engine assembly procedure.

This noise may diminish as the transmission warms up. This may be due to the 5th and 6th gear synchronizer rings.
TSB 24-20402024-03-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit paint damage on the rear quarter panel due to contact with the soft top rear window. This may be due to a contact condition that can occur during extreme off-road driving between the soft top rear window and the rear quarter panel. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to modify the rear window.
TSB 24-20322024-03-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE:BODY:TRUNK LID. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles built on or before 28-Feb-2023 may exhibit water entry into the rear trunk. This may be due to a lack of body seam sealer at the floor panel to trunk sheet metal joint. This repair procedure addresses water entry from underneath of the vehicle into the rear trunk area (jack storage compartment). This article does not apply if water is entering the vehicle from above the rear trunk area (such as from the roof, rear window etc.). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to apply seam sealer to the forward trunk to floor panel sheet metal joint.
SSM 522782024-03-05. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2021-2023 Bronco (non-Raptor) vehicles built on or before 09-Jul-2023 may exhibit a fluid leak from the front drive axle pinion seal. This may be due to operating the vehicle under high load. If leaking, replace the pinion seal following Workshop Manual (WSM) section 205-03A > Removal and Installation > Drive Pinion Flange and Seal. To prevent subsequent seal leaks, the front differential fluid must also be replaced using the revised specification Motorcraft® SAE 75W-85 Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear Lubricant, part number XY-75W85-QL. Refer to WSM section 205-03A > General Procedures > Differential Draining and Filling. For claiming use causal part number 3254 with applicable labor operations in Section 3 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual and M-Time. Reference this SSM article number in the warranty claim.
SSM 522582024-02-23. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LOCK; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a parasitic battery draw. This may be due to an interior door lock switch on the driver's and passenger's interior door panels. Prior to normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, check both front door lock control switches for damage and/or proper operation. If a front door lock control switch does not operate as designed, repair as necessary. If no problems are found, continue with normal WSM diagnostics. For claiming, use causal part 14028 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
