Service bulletins for the 2021 Ford Bronco

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 501492021-09-28. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with front and rear parking aid sensors may set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for all 8 parking aid sensors and/or circuits. This may be due to the software within the parking aid module (PAM). To correct the condition, reprogram the PAM using the latest software level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 15K866 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. After PAM programing check for DTCs and correct as necessary.
SSM 501482021-09-28. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021 Bronco vehicles may experience multiple warning indicators / messages displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or multiple communication fault diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) setting in and/or related to the HS2-CAN modules. This may be due to a loose and/or improperly seated connector C210. If the vehicle exhibits the above conditions, access and inspect connector C210 for proper attachment and/or damage and repair as necessary. To access the connector, remove the right side lower cowl side panel (follow Workshop Manual, (WSM) Section 415-00 > Removal and Installation > A-Pillar Speaker, Steps 9-10) and the glove compartment (follow WSM Section 501-12 > Removal and Installation > Glove Compartment). If this fault persists, refer to WSM Section 418-00A and continue with normal diagnostics.
SSM 500842021-09-28. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021 Bronco 5 door models equipped with a hard top roof configuration may exhibit poor Sirius XM satellite radio reception and or signal loss in rural areas with dense foliage, tall buildings, or other similar obstructions. No additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution to improve this condition that is expected to be available for service in January 2022. In addition, if the vehicle is equipped with the optional factory roof rails and crossbars this may further degrade the reception. Removing the roof rails and crossbars may improve reception performance. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule a service appointment with the customer once the repair becomes available.
21B492021-09-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. In all of the affected vehicles, a quality concern on the molded-in color hard top roof was identified during our quality inspections. This concern is strictly an appearance issue as the function of the roof is uncompromised. The exposed or unsealed hard top edges may cause unsatisfactory appearance when exposed to extreme water and humidity.
TSB 21-22852021-09-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with a hard top may exhibit a loose and/or sagging headliner. This may be due to the factory installation process. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to re-adhere the headliner.
SSM 500642021-09-04. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC:SOFTWARE/PROGRAMMING. Some 2013-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00.
SSM 500652021-09-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected to be available for service in January 2022. In addition, if the vehicle is equipped with the optional factory roof rails and crossbars this may further degrade the reception. Removing the roof rails and crossbars may improve reception performance. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule a service appointment with the customer once the repair becomes available.
SSM 500452021-09-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2018-2021 Ford/Lincoln vehicles equipped with a wireless charging pad may exhibit an inoperative charging pad, slow charging, a notification that the phone has been mispositioned on the charging pad and/or the phone charging icon in the center screen is not showing. This may be due to the customer's phone if they are using an iPhone 12. Vehicles equipped with a wireless charging pad are designed to charge best with phones that follow the Qi standard. The iPhone 12 hardware currently does not follow the Qi standard for wireless charging. This may make it difficult for Ford and Lincoln vehicles to wirelessly charge this specific phone. The phone can still be charged using the USB cable if the vehicle experiences the above symptoms. If the customer is using an iPhone 12, verify the wireless charging pad works with a Qi certified phone prior to any part replacements.
SSM 500292021-09-04. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES; VISIBILITY. Some 2021 Broncos equipped with the Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond and/or Badlands trim levels may exhibit a whistle noise coming from the drivers side mirror area of the vehicle. This may be due to an excessive gap between the exterior mirror cover and the glass housing. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in October 2021. Replacement of the mirror and/or mirror cover will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
SSM 500052021-09-04. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR; VISIBILITY. Some 2021 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a side door window that gets hung up on the upper door weatherstrip when opening the door causing resistance to opening. This may be due to an incorrect alignment of the side door and/or window. To correct this condition, ensure no damage exists to the door, latch or related components and make necessary repairs before continuing. If concern persists, perform the Up/Down, Fore/Aft Adjustment (steps 1-15), refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-11, Front/Rear Door Window Glass Adjustment Procedure. If the concern has not been resolved, perform Pinpoint Test K located in Section 501-11 of the WSM.
SSM 500032021-09-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some 2021 Bronco vehicles may exhibit a creak/pop type noise when any of the side doors are opened and closed. This may be due to incorrect door installation, alignment and/or incorrect tightening of the two bolts which hold the door to the vehicle body. To correct this condition, inspect for and address any damage to the door and/or latch components, then remove and reinstall the suspect door following the instructions located in the Digital Owners Manual, Removable Vehicle Components > Removable Doors > Removing and Installing the Doors.
