Service bulletin SSM 50064

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

Some 2013-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00.

Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component
SSM 552402026-10-13. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated red brake warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0049:01 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be due to pin fitment at the brake fluid level sensor connector. To resolve this concern, replace the brake fluid reservoir and replace the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector C1052 with service pigtail wiring kit 3U2Z-14S411-BXAB. For claiming, use causal part 2L210 and labor operations 2140A and 2219D45WR.

SSM 549402026-06-22. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2026 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a U2100:00 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for initial configuration incomplete stored in the trailer control module (TRM). This may be due to the vehicle having a Ford accessory trailer brake kit installed without being programmed following the included instructions. If the vehicle was built with minor feature code FDDAA and a trailer brake gain switch is present in the stock location in the instrument panel, a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit has been installed on the vehicle. If a Ford Accessory trailer brake kit is present, download and run the "TRM - Towbar Configuration" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS).

SSM 545742026-02-17. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a "Parking Brake Failure, Service Immediately message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) C2007, C2008, C1034, U0293 and/or U0100 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. To correct the condition, follow the technical instructions outlined FSA 22P31 (US) or 22B47 (Canada) for an appropriate repair direction.
SSM 544482026-01-06. Service bulletin. Some 2017-2026 F-Super Duty vehicles may exhibit a pull/drift condition during braking. This may be due to the brake pads needing to be broken in. Repeated, heavy brake applications may assist to resolve the pull/drift condition. The Workshop Manual, Section 206-00 Symptom Chart for vehicle pulls or drifts during braking has been updated to reflect this information.
SSM 544312025-12-10. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated red brake warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0049:01 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. Replace the brake fluid reservoir and the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector. Do not disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector, cut the connector 3-4 inches (75-100 mm) from the connector end and leave the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector attached to brake fluid reservoir. Include these parts in the same package when returning warranty replacement brake fluid reservoirs. The brake fluid reservoir with the electrical connector still connected should be packaged in the original box to protect it during shipping. For claiming, use causal part 2L210 and labor operations 2140A and 2219D45WR.
SSM 544012025-12-01. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2025 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a stuck in park condition with no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). This may be due to connector C211 pin push out on circuit CCB61 or an open on circuit CCB61 between the antilock brake system (ABS) module and the body control module (BCM). Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-05 Automatic Transmission External Controls > Diagnosis and Testing > External Controls - Pinpoint Test for "Stuck In Park" has been updated with improved diagnostics. Refer to revised WSM sections for normal diagnosis.
