Service bulletin SSM 54431
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated red brake warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0049:01 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. Replace the brake fluid reservoir and the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector. Do not disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector, cut the connector 3-4 inches (75-100 mm) from the connector end and leave the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector attached to brake fluid reservoir. Include these parts in the same package when returning warranty replacement brake fluid reservoirs. The brake fluid reservoir with the electrical connector still connected should be packaged in the original box to protect it during shipping. For claiming, use causal part 2L210 and labor operations 2140A and 2219D45WR.

| SSM 55240 | 2026-10-13. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated red brake warning indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C0049:01 stored in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be due to pin fitment at the brake fluid level sensor connector. To resolve this concern, replace the brake fluid reservoir and replace the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector C1052 with service pigtail wiring kit 3U2Z-14S411-BXAB. For claiming, use causal part 2L210 and labor operations 2140A and 2219D45WR. |

| SSM 54250 | 2025-10-02. Service bulletin. Some 2024-2025 Escape Hybrid/Maverick Hybrid/Nautilus Hybrid/F-150 non-Lightning/F-Super Duty/Bronco and 2025 Expedition/Navigator/Ranger vehicles where customers have installed an aftermarket supplemental braking system may experience a discharged 12-volt battery after recreational towing. This may be due to the supplemental braking system keeping the vehicle awake during brake applications. Advise customers that while recreational towing the vehicle with a supplemental braking system installed, it is recommended to use a 12-volt battery charger connected to a power source external to the vehicle being towed. The Owners Manual is in process of being updated with this information. |
| SU4 P4 BRONCO | 2023-11-03. Service bulletin. Software Update SU4 P4 for 2022-2023 Bronco is now available. Quality improvements include: - Prevent unintended Fuel level MIL after future OTA updates. -Various Apple Carplay quality improvements -Electronic Brake Boost (EBB) interaction enhancement during neutral tow operation. |
| TSB 23-2162 | 2023-06-16. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles built on or before 18-Sept-2022 may exhibit a broken parking brake switch. The original parking brake switch design is no longer available. For vehicles within this build date that require parking brake switch replacement, follow the Service Procedure to install a steering column opening cover which will come with a new and improved parking brake switch design. |
| SSM 51261 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00. |
| SSM 51227 | 2023-01-05. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit noises coming from the brake pedal while applying and/or releasing the brake pedal or while the vehicle is off without brake pedal application. A single click and/or clunk may be heard during brake pedal application and again on brake pedal release and is considered normal. Clicking may also be heard while the vehicle is off, and without the brake pedal being applied. The clicking heard with the vehicle off is due to the EBB going through the normal shut-down process. The amount of noise will vary between EBB modules and replacement of the EBB module is not expected to reduce the noises. |
| SSM 51120 | 2022-10-11. | TSB 22-2360 | 2022-09-30. Service bulletin. This article supersedes TSB 22-2210 to update the expected release date of the revised ABS module software. Customers who neutral (4-wheel flat) tow 2021-2022 Broncos equipped with an electronic brake booster (EBB) may report an inconsistent brake assist when a supplemental braking system has been installed. This may result from supplemental brake system set-up that does not account for the Broncos EBB system entering sleep mode (via the ABS module) after a pre-determined period of time following vehicle shut-down. This functionality is necessary to prevent battery drain. Enhanced software is under development to address this condition when the vehicle enters Neutral Tow mode. The new software is expected to be available in December 2022. Monitor OASIS for updates. Until the software becomes available, customers who meet this criteria may perform the procedures below to address this condition when neutral (4-wheel flat) towing their vehicle. |
| TSB 22-2354 | 2022-09-23. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2022 Bronco vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator and stability-traction control indicator, and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C1013:09 stored in the ABS module. This may be due to ABS module software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the ABS module software. |
