Service bulletins for the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

1709 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

080730026E2018-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This informational bulletin provides information on Some vehicles may rock or move slightly forward or rearward while in Park at start up after cold soak. This condition may be accompanied by a clunk noise. This is a slight movement that is more often seen visually, rather than felt, when viewed from the outside and using the auto-start feature, if equipped.
040730013D2018-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE; EQUIPMENT. This informational bulletin provides information to dealership personnel on automatic transmission shift and engine drivability concerns and/or MIL ON due to aftermarket oil bath air filter use.
PIP4112R2018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear.
03-07-29-004J2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION. This informational bulletin provides technicians with information to assist in identifying operating characteristics of manual transmissions that repair attempts will not change.

17-NA-0662018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This warranty administration bulletin provide policy information for automatic transmission Oil Cooler Flush and flow test.
16-NA-1292018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This informational bulletin advises the technician not to change the crankshaft balancer if it has the illusion of a wobble or vibration appearance.
16-NA-0142018-05-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:FLUID/LUBRICANT. Delayed Engagement After Sitting With Engine Off - Torque Converter Fluid Drain Back
PIP5375E2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION. This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician that the rear wheel drive manual transmission restriction has ended.
PIP5248D2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps need to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have stalling shudder and/or hard shifting into 1st gear or reverse vibration on launch (with excessive crankshaft end play). Technician will test to determine if the crank shaft end play is within specification 0.0015–0.0086 inch. If end play is found to be out of specification, remove engine and inspect for possible crankshaft thrust bearing and/or crankshaft for wear. Inspect thrust bearing for wear on one side and crankshaft on that “mating” surface. If the thrust bearing has three vertical channels worn off replace connecting rod bearings, main bearings, thrust bearing and crankshaft. If working on a Corvette the oil tank with lines and oil cooler are both required to be replaced if equipped.
17-NA-0662018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This warranty administration bulletin provide policy information for automatic transmission Oil Cooler Flush and flow test.
17NA2872018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY. This technical bulletin provides a procedure to replace the rear axle lubricant to correct the noise from the rear axle.
080730035C2018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This bulletin provides information on the harmful effects of water or ethylene glycol in transmission fluid.
060089031E2018-05-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This informational bulletin provides information on OEM and Remanufactured Engine and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Identification.
16NA3382018-05-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ENGINE. This Bulletin provides guidelines for Dealers required to contact the PQC for engine or transmission assembly replacement and explains the PQC process, GWM Transaction submission, vehicle service record retention and proper handling of assembly returns.
16NA3382018-05-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. This Bulletin provides guidelines for Dealers to determine whether or not they need to contact the PQC for an engine, transmission or transfer case assembly replacement and information explaining the PQC process, Global Warranty Management Transaction submission, vehicle repair record retention and proper handling of assembly returns.
GCUS-3-8082018-04-02. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. 52620 02 Customer Satisfaction. Certain vehicles may have a condition in which the left hand front transmission oil cooler (TOC) line can move out of its design position and come into contact with either an underbody stud or the transmission mount. This may result in a potential rub through of the TOC line and transmission fluid may come in contact with a hot surface resulting in hot surface ignition. Dealers are to inspect and replace the transmission oil cooler line as required, and cut off the body stud on the driver side of the vehicle near the transmission support.
PIP5168F2018-02-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT; BACK OVER PREVENTION; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a no crank concern. Technician will need to check the valve train for movement when the engine is cranked. If the valve train is not moving while the crankshaft is moving the front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the valve train is rotating during inspection, disconnect the Camshaft Position sensor and check if the engine will start. If the engine starts front cover will need to be removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly. If the engine does not start with the Camshaft Position sensor disconnected the follow published “Engine Cranks But Does Not Run” diagnosis in Service Information. Also perform an Engine Compression Test and Cylinder Leakage Test in Service Information documents all results. If the Service Information procedures above isolate an engine mechanical concern then removed to inspect for a sheared cam sprocket locator pin. If the cam sprocket locator pin has sheared, replace the engine assembly.

GCUS-3-6962017-10-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:TORQUE CONVERTER. 33110 - Service Update. When a commanded shift occurs outside of the expected transmission turbine speed window limits, the commanded shift monitor requests a driver defaulted 8th gear state. The torque associated with the default action results in broken turbine shaft. The calibration window (based on output speed) for the safety monitor (P16F3) is smaller than the calibration window for the driver initiated TAP downshift speed limit checks. Dealers will reprogram the transmission control module.
