Service bulletins for the 2019 Mazda Mazda3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SA-065-20 | 2020-10-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some customer's may complain that the HVAC system only blows warm to cool air (not cold) after starting the vehicle and not moving right away. This may be caused by a closed Active Air Shutter (AAS). Under specific circumstances, the AAS has a “learning issue” where AAS is kept closed after startup even if the PCM requests it to be open. The shutters will open and work correctly as soon as the vehicle speed exceeds 6.25 MPH (10 KPH). NO DTC will be set when this happens. |
| SA-061-20a | 2020-10-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. If you receive a customer concern about the CHECK IN light coming on and DTC P3400 (cylinder deactivation system malfunction) stored, the cylinder deactivation oil control valve may be plugged with plastic debris from the oil filter wrapper. The debris may enter the center of the oil filter when poking a hole in the filter wrapper during removal, and then travel through the engine and plug the cylinder deactivation oil control valve. |

| 09-032-20-3739 | 2020-10-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit that the liftgate interferes with the rear bumper when closed forcefully, resulting in damaged paint on the rear bumper. Due to variations of the clearance between the liftgate and the rear bumper, the bottom edge of the liftgate may overrun the rear bumper. To correct this concern, the hardness of stop rubbers on the liftgate has been modified. |
| 02-006-20-3688 | 2020-10-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; SUSPENSION. Some vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from the front suspension when driving over bumps or on a road with a wavy surface. The noise may be caused by the mounting rubber (1) because of insufficient clearance between the rubber and the metal bracket of the mounting rubber during the assembly process. To correct this issue, the mounting rubber has been modified to ensure the proper clearance. |
| SA-062-20 | 2020-09-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; PARKING BRAKE; VISIBILITY; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. Some customers may complain about the following message displayed in the Multi-Information Display: In the following cases, the MRCC with Stop & Go function system is canceled when the vehicle is traveling at 19 mph (30 km/h) or less: • The Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) cannot detect target objects due to one of the following: • The windshield is dirty • The FSC lens is foggy • There is low visibility due to rain, fog or snow • It is at night and there is not enough light • There is direct or reflected sunlight on the FSC • There is problem with the FSC • There is a problem with the AUTOHOLD control function. • There is a problem with the electric parking brake (EPB). |
| 15-002-20-3719 | 2020-09-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES. Some vehicles equipped with Smart Brake Support (SBS) may exhibit a front radar system malfunction message in the instrument cluster with DTC C1A67:04 (front radar sensor internal malfunction) stored in memory. This may be caused by water penetrating into the front radar sensor through the breather hole when exposed to a great amount of water and damaging the radar sensor, resulting in the DTC C1A67:04. To eliminate this concern, the front radar sensor has been modified. |
| CSP06c | 2020-09-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. CSP06 - 2019 MAZDA3 MODULE UPDATE FOR CONNECTED SERVICES: On July 6, this campaign was temporarily suspended due to software programming concerns. | 01-010-20-3706 | 2020-09-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some customers may experience a no start because the battery is discharged after the vehicle is parked for more than 8 hours. This may be caused by one or more of the following, resulting in excessive parasitic draw (dark current) on the battery. 1. The vehicle control system may not have gone to sleep because a key fob was left in the vehicle after the ignition switch was turned off and the doors were closed. This is caused by improper BCM control logic which allows a higher parasitic draw (approx. 6A) to continue for approximately 6 minutes until the vehicle control system goes into sleep mode. If the doors are operated frequently for car washing or luggage loading/unloading etc., it prevents the vehicle control system from sleeping during that time. 2. The parking lights may have been left on because the warning sound for lights on is a short ding, and it may not be noticed. 3. [With Full-Auto A/C] The heater control unit may not have gone to sleep because the hazard warning switch was pressed after the ignition was turned off. This is caused by improper control logic of the heater control unit. |
| CSP06b | 2020-08-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. | MT-001-20 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal Workshop Manual diagnosis. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Ask the customer if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Below are a couple of examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices. |
| 15-002-20-3719 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: RADAR; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some vehicles equipped with Smart Brake Support (SBS) may exhibit a front radar system malfunction message in the instrument cluster with DTC C1A67:04 (front radar sensor internal malfunction) stored in memory. This may be caused by water penetrating into the front radar sensor through the breather hole and damaging the radar sensor, resulting in the DTC C1A67:04. To eliminate this concern, the front radar sensor has been modified. |
| 09-023-20-3723 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Some vehicles may exhibit a deformed fuel-filler lid panel (1) attached to the fuel-filler lid box, resulting in a poor appearance. This concern is caused by the lid box not having enough water drainage capability which leads to the accumulation of water inside it. The water then freezes in cold weather and expands or the inner side of the lid panel absorbs the water and swells from long exposure, deforming the lid panel. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the fuel-filler lid box has been modified to have better drainage capability. |
| 09-006-20-3673a | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. When encountering a vehicle with paint damage, refer to the "Mazda Paint Warranty Guide" to determine cause, prevention, remedy, and warranty coverage (if applicable). |
| 07-003-20-3712 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some customers may hear a repeating click sound when using the HVAC system. The click sound may be caused by the air mix doors moving back and forth. This concern has been eliminated by a dash-electrical supply unit control software modification. |
| 01-009-20-3710 | 2020-08-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may complain about a very low frequency noise and/or vibration felt at the steering wheel, the floor and/or the seats when driving at 1500-1650 rpm in any gear position. This may be caused by normal vehicle behavior while the cylinder deactivation is active (two cylinders drive). The state of the cylinder deactivation can be monitored in the center display to help verify if this is the issue. WARNING: DO NOT keep your eyes focused solely on the display while test driving. For your safety, keep your eyes on the road ahead. To correct this concern, the radiator mount brackets and the control software of the PCM have been modified to reduce the resonance of the radiator. NOTE: The combination of the modified radiator mount brackets and older PCM calibration may result in worse vibration. |
