Additionally, the following messages may appear on the instrument display: “Trailer not connected” or “Parking Aid Malfunction”. If a driver attempts to exit the truck while the transmission is not in Park, and the parking brake is not applied, the truck could move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the truck could increase the risk of a crash. The bolts will be tightened as necessary and the technician will ensure the shifter operates properly. |
| 2019047 | 2019-02-04. Powertrain. Issue: On certain trucks, the transmission shifter may not lock in the park position. Safety Risk: Unintended vehicle movement could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their truck to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to check if the shifter is working properly. If a problem is found, the shifter will be repaired. |
