What is wrong

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Bronco, 2023 Super Duty F-250, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles. The Tire and Loading Information (TREAD) label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, which can result in an overloaded vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

What can happen

An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Ford will mail a new TREAD label to install over the existing label, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the new label installed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 21, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23C18.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.

SSM 524762024-05-03. Service bulletin. All accessory stick-on keyless entry keypads come with a wallet card containing the master code. If the accessory keypad was factory installed, this card will be placed in the glove box and should be handed to the vehicles owner during initial delivery. Unlike the integrated (wired) factory keypad, the accessory keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is lost, follow these steps to recover the code. Dealer Key Code access is granted through the Dealer Program Enrollment System (DPES); dealership management can authorize users. The authorized user must go to FMCDealer.com > Parts and Service > Parts Product Line Information > Keys/Entry Devices > Aftermarket Keyless Entry Keypad Code Access. Follow the instructions on the screen to obtain the master code for the accessory keypad.

Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles equipped with a factory soft top roof may exhibit a headliner that is detaching from the soft top material. This may be due to the factory installation process.
SSM 523282024-03-20. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco/F-150, 2023-2024 Escape/F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience a concern during accessory protocol interface module (APIM) programming where the vehicle's center display screen indicates USB Error. This may be due to a lack of memory space available to perform the APIM software update. If it is a memory concern, the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will provide an option to delete the voice application. Re-enter the module programming and when prompted, do not select first option - SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update, select the second option - Delete Voice Application(s) From Module. Once deleted, run the SYNC Module (APIM) Software Update as directed, this will update the software and automatically reload the voice app. If the voice delete option is not available, continue with normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual, Section 418.
TSB 24-20402024-03-07. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2024 Bronco vehicles may exhibit paint damage on the rear quarter panel due to contact with the soft top rear window. This may be due to a contact condition that can occur during extreme off-road driving between the soft top rear window and the rear quarter panel. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to modify the rear window.
TSB 24-20322024-03-07. Service bulletin. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles built on or before 28-Feb-2023 may exhibit water entry into the rear trunk. This may be due to a lack of body seam sealer at the floor panel to trunk sheet metal joint. This repair procedure addresses water entry from underneath of the vehicle into the rear trunk area (jack storage compartment). This article does not apply if water is entering the vehicle from above the rear trunk area (such as from the roof, rear window etc.). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to apply seam sealer to the forward trunk to floor panel sheet metal joint.
SSM 522712024-02-23. Service bulletin. Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 12 inch center display screen and driver assistance package DBCAY (minor feature code) may exhibit the brakes applying without brake pedal input during parking lot type driving below 5 mph (8 km/h). To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS) OASIS report. This may be due to the Front Brake Assist feature of the vehicle. If the customer finds this feature too sensitive, it can be turned off in the vehicle's center display screen in the Features > Driver Assistance menu. This feature is unrelated to the Pre-Collision Assist feature of the vehicle. To disable the pop-up message that Front Brake Assist is off every time the vehicle is restarted and permanently disable the feature, download and perform the IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Configuration application using the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) diagnostic scan tool. To correct the condition, reprogram the DSP module to the latest software level using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) diagnostic scan tool. For claiming, use causal part 18B849 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
