Service bulletins for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 551942026-09-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E, 2025-2026 Navigator and 2024 F-150 vehicles may exhibit inoperative welcome/approach detection lights. This may be due to the body control module (BCM) software. To correct the condition, download and run the "BCM - Programmable Module Installation (PMI)" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. If the condition persists after PMI, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-01 for normal diagnostics and repair as necessary outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part 15604 and labor operations 12651D and BCM.

SSM 516962023-06-13. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on or before 19-Aug-2022 may exhibit a condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the vehicle is off and have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1533 stored in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to the internal logic within the headlamp switch. To correct this condition, replace the headlamp switch (service base PN: 11654). Refer Workshop Manual, Section 417-01. For claiming, use casual part 11654 and the applicable labor operations of Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 516472023-05-31. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a condition of intermittent headlamp operation while the vehicle is OFF and have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1533 stored in the body control module (BCM). This may be due to the internal logic within the headlamp switch. Switch and/or module replacement will not resolve this condition. Headlamp operation is not affected while the vehicle is ON. A new headlamp switch is currently under development to correct this condition. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment in July 2023, when parts are expected to become available.
