Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford Maverick

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

23B392023-07-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Certain 2022 Maverick HEVs Maverick No-start Condition In some of the affected vehicles, a no crank/no start condition may occur. This may be due to a loose or detached eyelet solder connection C1617E in the battery cable assembly at the battery junction box.
SSM 517252023-06-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020-2023 Ford and Lincoln SYNC3 equipped vehicles may experience an inaccurate notification in the FordPass®/LincolnWay® app indicating Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode. Vehicle Has Entered Deep Sleep Mode message is expected if the vehicle has not been started for 14 consecutive days, battery voltage is at/below 9.5 volts or the body control module (BCM) 12 volt battery state of charge (SoC) drops below 50%. If the vehicle is going into deep sleep outside these conditions, this may be due to the telematics control unit (TCU) software. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the TCU to the latest software. For claiming, use causal part 14G229 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 516532023-05-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. 2020-2023 Escape/Explorer, 2021-2023 F-150 and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles equipped with a full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may exhibit a cable connection error screen from the Midtronics xRC-3363 High Voltage Battery Rescue Charger. The xRC-3363 will prompt the Technician to verify the low voltage connections, when no actual fault is present. The technician will need to delete the WiFi connection from the xRC-3365 so it will not automatically reconnect and adjust the date. Next go to Settings>Shop Information>Date/Time Settings and change the date prior to May 1, 2023 and stay off the internet so it will not auto correct itself. Press and hold the power button until the tool turns off. Then turn the xRC-3365 back on and attempt the rescue charge.
TSB 23-21562023-05-31. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. Some 2020-2023 Escape/Corsair, 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles may exhibit a condition where the door(s) do not open using the exterior door handle(s). This may be due to an enabled permanent engagement inertia lock within the exterior door handle, this condition occurs when the doors are closed or opened with excessive force. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to properly disengage the permanent engagement inertia lock clip to allow the exterior door handle(s) to fully extend and open the door(s) from the exterior.
SSM 516012023-05-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL; TRAILER HITCHES. Some 2021-2023 F-150 and 2022-2023 F-Super Duty/Expedition/Navigator/Maverick vehicles equipped with an integrated trailer module (iTRM) may exhibit a trailer lamp fault message with various related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC). Most trailer emulator testers will not draw enough current to correctly diagnose these concerns. They may be used to diagnose basic functionality of the iTRM, however, some trailer emulator testers may cause false trailer lamp fault messages to appear. The customer's trailer should be used for diagnosis instead of a trailer emulator tester. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-01 for normal diagnostics.
TSB 23-21362023-05-16. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some 2022-2023 Maverick Vehicles built on 10-Jul-2022 and through 25-Jan-2023 may exhibit a condition where the headliner is detached with exposed edges at the A-pillar trim panel or gaps between A-pillar trim panel and the weatherstrip seal. This may be due to a misaligned or out of position pin retainer. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to diagnose and replace the air bag side curtain.
SSM 516132023-05-16. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles built on 04-Sep-2022 and through 30-Dec-2022 may exhibit the engine not restarting after an auto start/stop event with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P164C stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may also become illuminated after the vehicle experiences a second event before it can be brought in for service. This may be due to an internal issue with the PCM. To correct the condition, check the battery condition and state of charge, then replace the PCM and re-evaluate the concern. For claiming, use causal part 12A650 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. If the concern persists, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-14B and perform Pinpoint Test AA for normal diagnostics.
SSM 515982023-05-16. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2020-2023 Escape/Corsair equipped with 2.5L engine full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles equipped with 2.5L engine FHEV powertrain may exhibit a condition where the 12V battery voltage is low or discharged with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3003:62 stored in the direct current/direct current converter control module (DC/DC). The vehicle may also exhibit DTC U3003:16 and/or U3000:04 stored in the DC/DC module. This may be due to an open in the 300 amp mega fuse located in the high current battery junction box (BJB). To correct this condition, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-05>Pinpoint Test H1 to verify the 300 amp mega fuse condition, replace the fuse upon confirm it is open. Test and recharge the 12v battery.
SSM 515362023-05-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN.

To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram various modules starting with the PCM and diagnose the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor.
22B382023-02-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Certain 2022 Model Year Multiple Vehicle Lines Equipped with 8F35 Transmissions Transmission Replacement In all of the affected vehicles, the snap ring that is used to hold the 8F35 transmission clutch compression spring engaged was not fully seated in the assembly process. When the snap ring is not fully seated, the transmission will function as if the C clutch is partially engaged. The customer may experience rough shifts until the transmission can adapt to the clutch performance. There is a potential long term durability concern associated with the compromised function of the clutch.
