Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford Maverick

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 516132023-05-16. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles built on 04-Sep-2022 and through 30-Dec-2022 may exhibit the engine not restarting after an auto start/stop event with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P164C stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) may also become illuminated after the vehicle experiences a second event before it can be brought in for service. This may be due to an internal issue with the PCM. To correct the condition, check the battery condition and state of charge, then replace the PCM and re-evaluate the concern. For claiming, use causal part 12A650 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. If the concern persists, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-14B and perform Pinpoint Test AA for normal diagnostics.
SSM 509732022-08-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022 Maverick vehicles built on or before 4-Apr-2022 equipped with 2.0L engine may exhibit a charging system warning indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U012D, U0284 and/or U042E stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). The vehicle may also exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTCs P0036:00 and/or P0138:00 stored in the PCM. This may be caused by water intrusion in the connector C1050. Prior to performing Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics, inspect the male and/or female connector C1050 for signs of corrosion or water intrusion. If water or corrosion is found, replace the male and/or female connector C1050 with a pigtail kit and apply dielectric grease.
