Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford F-150
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 51319 | 2023-02-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a side door ajar and/or a hood ajar warning message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with or without diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P166B, B1175, B1176, B11C1 and/or B11C0. This may be due to a misalignment of the the door or hood and/or their strikers. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement, check the door and/or hood and their strikers for proper alignment. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-03 alignment procedures. If the doors and hood are properly aligned, continue with normal diagnostics. |

| SSM 51306 | 2023-02-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2018-2023 F-150, Expedition, Navigator, Transit, Aviator and Explorer vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0627, P025A, P025B, P00C6, P008A and/or U0109 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to an intermittent or partial disconnect of the harness to the fuel pump control module (FPCM) connector, connector pin push-outs, damaged pins/terminals, or loose/corroded grounds. Inspect FPCM connector, applicable grounds (F-150 - G401, Expedition/Navigator - G403, Transit - G401, 2018-2019 Explorer G302, 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator - G407) and confirm FPCM connector (F-150 - C4336, Expedition/Navigator - C433, Transit - C433, 2018-2019 Explorer - C3239, 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator - C4033) is fully seated prior to performing PC/ED diagnostics or replacing any components. |
| SSM 51265 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR; EQUIPMENT. Some vehicles equipped with power folding mirrors may exhibit power folding mirrors that are inoperative or exhibit a clicking sound. This may be due to the mirrors being manually folded in, during transportation, going through a car wash, bumped in a parking lot, or found during pre-delivery inspection (PDI). Prior to the replacement of any components, attempt to synchronize the mirrors by following the Power Mirrors Synchronization procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 501-09 Rear View Mirrors - General Procedures - Power Mirrors Synchronization. |
| SSM 51263 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some 2015-2023 F-150, 2017-2022 F-Super Duty, and 2019-2023 Ranger vehicles may exhibit dust ingress into the cabin through the doors or air extractors. This may be due to the climate control system being in recirculation mode as a result of the recirculation button being on or automatic strategies for heating/cooling efficiency. To minimize dust ingress when driving in off-road or secondary road conditions, make sure that all doors and windows are fully closed and the climate control system is switched to defrost on and the instrument panel and footwell air vents are switched to off. Temperature and fan settings may be adjusted as desired. Alternatively, max defrost can be activated which will adjust all settings automatically. Operating in defrost mode will keep constant air flow through the rear air extractors and other small areas, helping minimize dust ingress. |
| SSM 51261 | 2023-01-06. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Some Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit noise when the brakes are applied. When diagnosing and repairing brake noise conditions, use the Workshop Manual (WSM) and the appropriate pinpoint test in section 206-00. The brake rotors should only be machined if directed by the WSM because one or more of the following conditions are present on the braking surface: scoring, excessive corrosion/rust or pitting, bluing/discoloration and/or heat spots. For additional information, refer to WSM section 206-00. |
| SSM 51226 | 2023-01-05. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STEERING:STEERING CONTROL MODULE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles may experience a lack of steering assist upon start-up along with a Steering Assist Fault message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U3001:89 and U3000:96 in the power steering control module (PSCM). This may be due to low voltage at the PSCM. Power steering assist will be restored when sufficient voltage is supplied. To clear the DTCs using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS), select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. Once cleared, cycle the ignition to verify normal system operation. If the DTCs return, refer to Workshop Manual Section 211-02 for normal diagnostics. For claiming, use causal part 3504. |
| TSB 22-2395 | 2022-12-02. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit a ting, pop or clicking noise from the front or rear wheel hub when accelerating or applying brakes or when shifting between drive/reverse (torque reversals). This condition may be caused by stick/slip between the hub and half shaft interface, during the torque reversals creating the ting/pop or clicking noise. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to install the new anti-ting washer between the wheel hub and axle shaft and reassemble. |
