Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford Expedition

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

TSB 25-23202025-07-24. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This article supersedes TSB 23-2364 to update the labor times associated with the Service Procedure from M-time to AP-time. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model Statement above, may DTC P2101 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the software in the PCM.
SSM 539662025-06-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2025 Ford/ Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM). This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC4 APIM modules as applicable, and the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check Professional Technician System (PTS) before attempting any specific technical service bulletin (TSB)/special service message (SSM) and check field service action (FSA) landing pages before attempting any FSA repairs. For any vehicle repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to Settings > General > About SYNC.
SSM 538932025-06-19. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2022-2024 Expedition vehicles equipped with driver assistance features and minor feature codes DBCBB and DBCBC may exhibit driver assistance feature warning messages displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Additionally, some modules may store invalid data/lost communication related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). The image processing module A (IPMA) should not store these DTCs. To confirm a vehicle is built with a certain minor feature code, review the build information by double-clicking the vehicle identification number (VIN) in the upper left corner in the Professional Technician System (PTS). This condition may be due to the software in the IPMA, causing it to not communicate on the network. To restore communication and functionality, download and run the "IPMA - Image Processing Module A (IPMA) Recovery" app in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool. Once IPMA communication has been restored, download and run the "IPMA - Image Processing Module (IPMA) Alignment" app, recheck DTCs and confirm that all warning messages are cleared from the IPC.
TSB 24-21802024-06-12. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This article supersedes 24-2028 to update the vehicle symptom. Some 2022-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may exhibit a random "Blind Spot Not Available Sensor Blocked" and/or "Cross Traffic Alert Not Available Sensor Blocked" warning messages in the IPC with no vehicle or objects near the vehicle. This condition may be intermittent, more noticeable in wet conditions. Diagnostic trouble codes B13F3:97 in the side obstacle detection control module - left (SODL) and/or B13F4:97 in the side obstacle detection control module - right (SODR) and/or U0233 and U0232 in the image processing module A (IPMA) may also be present. This may be due to a mud/snow/ice build-up between the radar sensor and the rear bumper cover or damage or corrosion to the radar sensor, connector or harness. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to repair damage and install shields.

Most trailer emulator testers will not draw enough current to correctly diagnose these concerns. They may be used to diagnose basic functionality of the iTRM, however, some trailer emulator testers may cause false trailer lamp fault messages to appear. The customer's trailer should be used for diagnosis instead of a trailer emulator tester. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-01 for normal diagnostics.
TSB 23-21222023-05-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2023 F-150/Mustang Mach-E and 2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with BlueCruise/ActiveGlide may experience loss of BlueCruise/ActiveGlide hands-free driving mode availability and/or BlueCruise/ActiveGlide inoperative and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U2400:00 in the gateway module (GWM) and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) modules with no other DTCs present. This may be due to an expired BlueCruise/ActiveGlide map file in the GWM and/or the customer's BlueCruise/ActiveGlide map subscription being expired. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the GWM.
