Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford Expedition
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 52133 | 2023-12-19. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022-2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with a 1 speed transfer case may exhibit a concern where the 4x4 setting reverts to 2H after a key cycle. This may be due to the transfer case control module (TCCM) software. To correct the condition, reprogram the TCCM using the latest version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 7E453 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |

| SSM 51827 | 2023-08-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION; UNKNOWN OR OTHER; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2022-2023 F-150 and 2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 01-Oct-2022 equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine may exhibit reduced engine power on startup and an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2101 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers they can remove this condition and continue to drive the vehicle by turning off the vehicle and leaving the vehicle in Key OFF, Engine OFF for at least 30 seconds, then restarting the engine. Engineering is working on a solution that is expected in October 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments once the repair becomes available. |
