Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford Expedition

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

TSB 23-23962024-01-05. Service bulletin. SEATS. This article supersedes TSB 23-2036 to add 2024 vehicle model years. Some 2018-2024 Navigator and Expedition vehicles may exhibit a concern where the second row seat back does not fold down or recline when the recline handle is pulled upward or the second row single seat easy entry seat fold switch is pressed. This concern may occur with vehicles equipped with two or three second row seats. This may be due to a broken recliner release lever. To correct this concern, replace the recliner release lever.
SSM 520442023-11-15. Service bulletin. SEATS; BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE. Some 2022-2023 Expedition vehicles, built on or before 31-Aug-2023, may exhibit an inoperative approach detection or power door unlock command power running board extended deployment auto timer feature (delayed for 300 seconds without opening the door) when Extended is selected in the center display screen for the power running board AUTO mode. This may be due to various software parameters in the driver front seat module (DSM). To correct the condition, download and run the Driver Front Seat Module (DSM) Configuration app using the latest level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming use causal part number 14C708 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.
TSB 23-20362023-03-04. Service bulletin. SEATS. Some 2018-2023 Navigator and Expedition vehicles may exhibit a concern where the second row seat back does not fold down or recline when the recline handle is pulled upward or the second row single seat easy entry seat fold switch is pressed. This concern may occur with vehicles equipped with two or three second row seats. This may be due to a broken recliner release lever. To correct this concern, replace the recliner release lever.
SSM 513112023-02-02. Service bulletin. SEATS. Some 2018-2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles may have a concern where the second row seat is locked in the forward tilted position while using Easy Entry preventing rearward movement. To unlock the seat, tip the seat back fully forward and slide the seat fully forward to its end of track travel. This will allow the seat to then be free to move rearward. This operation is characteristic to the Easy Entry feature of the second row seats. Do not force the seat rearward while in the locked position as it can result in damage to the seat track. Refer to the vehicle's Owner's Manual for further details.
