Service bulletin SSM 52317

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary

2023 F-Super Duty, 2023-2024 Expedition, 2024 Nautilus/F-150 vehicles will exhibit no light emitting diode (LED) confirmation from the key fob indicating that the vehicle has remote started (or not remote started). Factory key fobs with remote start no longer contain a LED feedback indicator. Do not replace the key fob for this condition. This is a normal operating characteristic and no service action is necessary.

Other bulletins for the same vehicles and component
SSM 523102024-03-20. Service bulletin. Some 2024 Nautilus and F-150 vehicles may incorrectly list the keyless entry keypad code card on the loose item checklist. 2024 Nautilus and F-150 vehicles in North America do not include keyless entry keypad code cards. Clients are now able to retrieve the vehicle's keyless entry keypad master access code in vehicle by following the instructions in the master access code card (available only on F-150) or in the Owners Manual > Keyless Entry Keypad Master Access Code. This process requires the use of two programmed intelligent access keys.
SSM 518272023-08-14. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2023 F-150 and 2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 01-Oct-2022 equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine may exhibit reduced engine power on startup and an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2101 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers they can remove this condition and continue to drive the vehicle by turning off the vehicle and leaving the vehicle in Key OFF, Engine OFF for at least 30 seconds, then restarting the engine. Engineering is working on a solution that is expected in October 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments once the repair becomes available.
