SSM 519612023-11-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTCs P0096 and/or P007B in the powertrain control module (PCM), which may be more prevalent in high ambient air temperatures. For vehicles that meet this criateria, inspect the front of the vehicle for the presence of an aftermarket bumper and/or accessories which may restrict air flow to the charge air cooler and surrounding sensors. Remove the aftermarket accessory and return the vehicle to stock and reevaluate. If the concern returns with the stock bumper/accessories removed, proceed to normal Workshop Manual diagnostics.
SSM 519392023-10-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2017-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmission may exhibit a whine noise at idle and/or while driving. This may be identified as coming from the bellhousing and the front of the transmission fluid pan. The whine noise may become louder when the transmission is at operating temperature and may increase with engine revolutions per minute (RPM) in the park (P) position. A small amount of whine noise is considered to be characteristic of the 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT/10R100 transmissions due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability. Use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of OASIS to submit a report if there is a customer concern of whine noise describing operating conditions and noise severity.
TSB 23-22192023-09-26. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles may exhibit no 3rd gear engagement and/or a grinding noise going into 3rd and/or 4th gear. This may be due to the transmission shifting system and clutch interaction such as a lack of full clutch disengagement during shifts and/or placing weight upon the gear shift lever while driving. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the 3rd and/or 4th gears and/or synchronizers as needed.
