| RCA-78-22-006-1 | 2022-05-06. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC (ASC). Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with a low clearance condition between the left front frame harness and the steering column intermediate shaft. If the frame harness touches the steering column intermediate shaft and this condition persists over time, the vehicle may experience a wear-through condition of the wires in the frame harness. The wear-through condition, which has not been observed to date in any customer vehicle, would only result if the frame harness length is near the limits of the specification and the nearby harness that normally constrains the frame harness is misrouted. The potential wear-through condition may result in a loss of electronic stability control. If loss of electronic stability control occurs, the vehicle will enter a reduced performance safe-state mode and an "Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system malfunction" indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed on their vehicle. Rivian will install a cable tie to ensure clearance between the frame harness and the steering column intermediate shaft. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |

| RCA-78-22-005-1 | 2022-05-06. Service bulletin. STEERING:COLUMN; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with a low clearance condition between the cowl harness and the steering column. If the cowl harness touches the steering column and this condition persists over time, the vehicle may experience a wear-through condition of the wires in the cowl harness. The potential wear-through condition may affect the steering angle sensor and/or turn signal wiring. If the steering angle sensor wiring is affected, the vehicle will enter into a reduced performance safe-state mode and a "Limited Performance Mode" indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed on their vehicle. If the turn signal wiring is affected, the turn signals may not properly function and a fault indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed. Rivian will install a cable tie to ensure clearance between the cowl harness and the steering column. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-78-22-004-1 | 2022-04-06. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS; SEAT BELTS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some 2022 R1T vehicles that may experience a wire harness clip becoming unseated under the front passenger seat. If this clip becomes unseated, there is a potential for this harness to make contact with the seat track during seat movement. While this potential contact has not been observed to date in any vehicle, it could result in damage to the wires inside the harness, which includes wires connecting to the seat belt anchor pre-tensioner, the seat-mounted side airbag, occupant classification sensor (OCS), and/or other seat functions such as powered movement. Damage to the occupant protection-related wires would illuminate the airbag warning light. If unrepaired, the damage may impact performance of the seat belt anchor pretensioner and OCS. If damage to the OCS wires results in a loss of the OCS, the system defaults to a 50% male deployment profile, deploying the passenger airbag if needed. The primary function of the seat belt and its retractor pretensioner would not be affected under the damaged wire condition described above. Rivian will inspect the front passenger seat body harness edge clip and wiring, reseating the edge clip as necessary. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-38-22-001-1 | 2022-04-06. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with incorrect High Voltage (HV) cable brackets on the front drive unit. If the incorrect brackets are installed, the high voltage cables might become chafed over time, resulting in a "System Failure" indicator light and a notification that the vehicle needs service. Rivian will inspect the front drive unit HV cable brackets. If the incorrect brackets are installed, they will be replaced. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-78-22-002-1 | 2022-03-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles. The gear guard camera wiring, contained within the spoiler assembly, may emit an electrical signal noise to the nearby high precision global navigation satellite system (GNSS) antenna which is also contained within the spoiler assembly. The signal noise may result in a loss of the highway assist feature. If the highway assist feature is engaged when this condition occurs, the driver will receive a driver takeover request with a “Highway Ending Soon” message on the driver display. If the driver is attempting to engage highway assist, the “Highway Assist Not Available” notification will appear on the driver display. Rivian will replace the existing spoiler with a spoiler that has improved wiring that will not degrade the GNSS signal. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-18-22-001-1 | 2022-03-07. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built without the damper reinforcement plate on top of the front damper. Without the damper reinforcement plate, the suspension loads may damage the shock tower over time. A damaged shock tower may result in additional suspension travel, a reduction in suspension stiffness, and abnormal noise noticeable to the customer. Rivian will inspect all affected vehicles. If a vehicle is found without a damper reinforcement plate, a new part will be installed. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-14-22-001-1 | 2022-03-07. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Some 2022 R1T vehicles may have been built with the left side front brake caliper installed on the front right or vice versa. Incorrect brake calipers may result in damage to the brake hoses. Customers may notice noise resulting from contact of the brake hose with the wheel weight. If the condition progresses, the brake hose could rub through. To date, we have not identified a rub-through on any vehicle. If a rub-through occurred, the customer would see a malfunction indicator light, and, in very rare circumstances, may experience degradation in braking performance. Rivian will inspect both the left and right front brake calipers. If an incorrect brake caliper is installed, it will be replaced with the correct caliper. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-78-22-003-1 | 2022-02-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may be experiencing impaired telematic functionality due to lack of connectivity. Symptoms may include loss of GPS navigation, cellular connection, certain driver-activated assist functions and SOS connectivity. If these features are deactivated due to lost connectivity, the driver will receive “feature unavailable” alerts or other warnings on the vehicle’s center display. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to improve the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-82-22-001-1 | 2022-02-07. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may experience inoperable headlamps, turn signals, position lamps, and daytime running lights at temperatures near -10°C (14°F) and below after being exposed for prolonged periods of time to such conditions when the vehicle is shut off (e.g., overnight). Customers may receive a malfunction indicator lamp warning and should notice that this lighting is not operational in darkened conditions. The side light bar remains operable and a vehicle reset may restore functionality. Rivian will calibrate and update the software related to the headlamps, turn signals, position lamps, and daytime running lights to prevent an inoperable condition at lower temperatures. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-78-22-001-1 | 2022-02-07. Service bulletin. PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL:AUTOMATIC (ASC); SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may experience a rear wheel liner wire harness (electronic parking brake and wheel speed sensor) pulling out of the harness holder during full wheel droop, allowing the harness to be out of position and contact the inside of the wheel. If the harness rubs through it could cause a loss of electronic parking brake and/or wheel speed sensor for that wheel. This could result in decreased parking brake performance. This condition was discovered after the off-road portion of a media event. The customer will receive adequate forewarning of this condition from the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). Further, the vehicle will go into a limited performance mode and the electronic parking brake for the other wheel would still be able to hold a steep grade (20%) at GVWR. Installing cable ties will secure the rear wheel harnesses to the knuckle bracket to ensure retention. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and for the continuous improvement of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-72-22-001-1 | 2022-02-07. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with a pinch condition of the passenger airbag wire harness in the instrument panel. If the wires are damaged the airbag light will illuminate, indicating a fault in the system. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and for the continuous improvement of Rivian vehicles. |
| RCA-56-22-001-1 | 2022-02-07. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with hood mastic adhesive that does not entirely bond the outer hood to the inner hood. If the outer hood is not correctly bonded to the inner hood, fluttering may be observed while driving at speeds of 70+ mph. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to improve the quality of Rivian vehicles. |
