NHTSA's summary

Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with a low clearance condition between the cowl harness and the steering column. If the cowl harness touches the steering column and this condition persists over time, the vehicle may experience a wear-through condition of the wires in the cowl harness. The potential wear-through condition may affect the steering angle sensor and/or turn signal wiring. If the steering angle sensor wiring is affected, the vehicle will enter into a reduced performance safe-state mode and a "Limited Performance Mode" indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed on their vehicle. If the turn signal wiring is affected, the turn signals may not properly function and a fault indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to have service performed. Rivian will install a cable tie to ensure clearance between the cowl harness and the steering column. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.
