Service bulletins for the 2019 Mazda Mazda3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

08-002-19-36002019-08-02. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some vehicles with the two-step deployment control air bag module may exhibit a clicking sound when turning the steering wheel. To eliminate this concern, a material change of the harness tape is planned.
09-028-19-36142019-08-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience that the MAZDA CONNECT unexpectedly announces the speed limit when the Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) wakes up, regardless of the ignition switch position (ON / ACC / OFF). The speed limit is announced when the vehicle is unlocked and a door is opened (waking up the CMU) without touching the start button. This concern occurs on the vehicles located in Canada and Mexico including those driven to and from the U.S. It is caused by improper CMU software and the unnecessary speed limit announcement function left activated at the factory. To correct the concern, the CMU software has been modified and the speed limit announcement function has been removed.

It is most noticeable when the A/C is first turned ON. This odor is the result of mold growth in the A/C evaporator/cooling unit which is caused by condensation, dust, and pollen within the cooling unit. This condition is usually worse during high humidity conditions. "Mazda Air Cooling Coil Coating" is available to encapsulate the mold to reduce odors. If the product is properly applied, it can effectively reduce the musty/mildew odor for up to three years.
