Service bulletins for the 2024 Mazda CX-90

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SA-007-24b2024-10-04. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. This information will give you the necessary knowledge to respond to customers concerns of Smart Brake Support (SBS) unintended braking. By educating the customer on the system operation, it should reduce their anxiety or distrust of the vehicle.
SA-071-242024-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. After an HV inverter replacement, there is no instruction in the WSM to perform Initial Learning of the Electric Motor Speed Sensor. This is required after replacing the inverter or electric motor. As a result, when attempting to start the vehicle, the Internal combustion (ICE) engine will start and then stop with DTC P0C17 stored. If this DTC is set, refer to P0C17:00 [SGC2/DMCM (e-SKYACTIV PHEV)] in the troubleshooting manual. NOTE: When attempting to complete the Learn of Electric Motor Speed Sensor with MDARS, it will be unsuccessful until the vehicle is shut off and left undisturbed for 1-2 hours. Make sure the 12V battery is fully charged and the EV battery is charged, then connect the battery and wait a minimum of 1-2 hrs with the ignition OFF before proceeding directly to the relearn procedure. DO NOT start the engine until directed to do so in the relearn procedure.
SA-069-242024-10-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some vehicles may exhibit poor hands-free liftgate operation after a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch accessory installation. IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a CX-90 equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch.
SA-066-242024-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Some customers may complain that the MyMazda App Remote Engine Start function fails. MX-30 and PHEV vehicles do not have a Remote Engine Start function; instead, they are equipped with the following remote functions: Start / Stop Charge Climate On / Off
SA-061-24a2024-10-04. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY/WIPER. Some customers may complain about a low washer fluid level warning message even though a visual inspection of the washer fluid tank looks like it still has a fair amount of fluid in it. With the CX-90 and CX-70 introduction of the front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout, the washer tank shape was changed from a vertical to a horizontal type. This makes it look like there is still enough liquid left if viewed from the spout when the warning light comes on.
SA-040-242024-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customer may experience any of the following: Multiple Warning Lights On • Infotainment center display blank • Engine no start unless the key transmitter is placed near the start button • Interior lights do not illuminate • DTC P2507:00 - PCM, PCM POWER SYSTEM: (LOW INPUT) stored. • DTC U0156:00 - PCM, CAN communication system, Communication error with CMU (Connectivity Master Unit).
SA-020-24b2024-10-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING; ENGINE; LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. The CX-70 and CX-90 have new and revised features that are different from previous models and may be difficult to understand. This Service Alert provides valuable information to support potential dealer and customer concerns.
SA-062-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For improvement of electrical diagnosis, the SKYACTIV® Wiring Terminal Test Kits has been delivered all the dealers. The terminal test kit enables you: To check pin fit drag of all PCM terminals used in SKYACTIV® vehicles and compare suspect terminal drag with a known good terminal. To measure the voltage/resistance avoiding any terminal damage.
SA-060-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. STEERING. Before judging a steering wheel as having premature wear or a defect, first clean the steering wheel as explained in the repair information. Some vehicles may have steering wheel stains caused by chemicals such as hand lotions.
SA-059-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers will report that their fuel door was stuck closed and would not open to refuel the vehicle. Follow the repair steps below unless the conditions outlined in TSB 09-019/21 - FUEL-FILLER LID PANEL IS DEFORMED for 2019-2021 Mazda3 and 2020-2021 CX-30 are present.
SA-058-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage such (melted, separating, etc.) when parked near a glass building or Low-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection.
SA-057-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices.
SA-056-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Interior parts made of resin have antistatic coating to prevent dust from sticking on the surfaces, and depending on the conditions of use, the antistatic components may crystallize slightly, giving an appearance of white stains on the surface. To remove the stains, wipe the stained surface with a towel soaked with water mixed with a small portion of a neutral detergent. If the white stains reappear again, simply wipe them again in the same way.
SA-055-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. A New Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF-A7) is being used for some 2023, 2024 and 2025 models. ATF-A7 is an extremely low viscosity formulation with low friction to achieve best-in-class fuel economy and driving performance. For easy identification, ATF-A7 is colored Red and ATF-FZ is colored Blue. There is NO interchangeability between ATF-A7 and ATF-FZ.
SA-053-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Auxiliary key blank cutting procedure. There are currently 2 methods for cutting a new auxiliary key blank. A. Auxiliary Key Trace Cut Method B. Auxiliary Key Code Cut Method
SA-052-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE. Some customer's might state that they notice fluid or oil leaking/dripping on the ground when the vehicle is parked. For this concern, inspect the vehicle for any trace of a fluid or oil leak and use the following examples as a guide to determine if it is severe enough to require a repair, or just to clean the area and monitor it at the next service.
SA-016-24b2024-09-04. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Some vehicles exhibit brake related concerns such as brake noise, brake judder or brake dragging. If you encounter a customer complaint for any one of these symptoms, refer to the following information to understand why symptoms may occur, and to better assist the customer in resolving their specific brake concern.
SA-006-24b2024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customers having MAZDA CONNECT concerns should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
SA-054-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. When the power windows are operated many times without being fully closed, small errors of the window position sensor may accumulate and cause improper operation of the jam-safe function. To reduce the risk of this occurrence, the AUTO function is disabled if the power window is operated 10 consecutive times without being fully closed (turning the ignition OFF and then ON does not reset the counting). If the power window is fully closed before the 10th time, the counting restarts and the AUTO function is not deactivated.
SA-061-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER.
SA-042-24a2024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers will report that their fuel filler lid (door) was stuck closed and would not open to refuel the vehicle. The fuel door may or may not be missing.
09-040-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers may complain that the 2 mph rear BCM power liftgate (PLG) warning beep is too low, making it difficult to notice that the PLG is not closed properly with the front instrument panel warning lights. As the vehicle speeds up to above 6 mph, the front BCM warning beep will activate to notify the driver that the PLG may not be properly closed due to interference from rear cargo items. This is caused by the warning beep volume on the rear BCM being set too low. To eliminate this concern, the PLG control module has been modified.
09-039-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some vehicles equipped with the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) may exhibit the exterior light warning light/exterior light warning indication on while driving or when the ignition is turned on and DTC B10A3:86 (Error signal received from swivel actuator (LH)) stored in memory.
09-037-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some customers may complain that on rainy days, the front combination light may appear to flicker or flash when the vehicle is stopped. This is not a vehicle defect since the lights are functioning properly; but rather, it is a phenomenon that can occur due to light refraction from water running over the headlamp lens while illuminated. NOTE: Explain to the customer that the repair described in this TSB helps disperse the water running over the headlamp lens to avoid the water flow concentrating to the lens axis, but it does not eliminate the phenomenon completely. No mass production is scheduled.
09-018-24a2024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may complain that the driver’s side outer mirror glass vibrates when driving at high speeds at approximately 60 mph (100 km/hour ) or more on bumpy roads such as road joints, coarse-grained paved roads or rough roads. This is caused by insufficient hardness of the adhesive tape between the outer mirror glass holder and the mirror glass. To eliminate this concern, the material of the adhesive tape between the outer mirror glass holder and the mirror glass has been improved and the tape location has been modified.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
