Service bulletins for the 2024 Mazda CX-90
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct an Emission Recall on certain 2024-2025 CX-90 and 2025 CX-70 PHEV vehicles. Please see the description, model, year, and VIN range below for all vehicles in this campaign. There are 38,812 vehicles affected by this concern in the U.S. and U.S. Territories. Vehicles produced and sold by Mazda Canada Inc. are also included in this campaign and should be repaired if presented to your dealership following Mazda Warranty policy 3.30.STOP DELIVERY OF AFFECTED VEHICLES: MAZDA SALES AND SERVICE TEAMS - ACTION ITEM: There are approximately 5,197 vehicles in stock at U.S. Mazda dealers which must be repaired prior to delivery. All Mazda dealers must quarantine any affected new, used or CPO in-stock vehicles until the repair is completed. The affected dealer inventory list was provided to each District Service Manager with the notification of this dealer email. Once completed, the car can be delivered, and the Warranty claim can be submitted later without penalty since the car has been repaired. To All Mazda Dealers: Failure to properly perform any recall repair is a direct violation of Paragraph 14(F) of the Dealer Agreement and can cause one or more of the following: Mechanical breakdown or failure, crash or injury, Dealership penalties/fines by Mazda and CARB/EPA, increased liability risk for the dealership, Missed Recall penalties, loss of customer trust and a poor Customer Experience. Concern Outline: All vehicles can be repaired immediately upon receipt of this Mazda Dealer announcement by following the repair and warranty claiming procedures housed in Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS). On certain subject vehicles, during normal driving, a temporary decrease in insulation resistance may be detected, which could be mistakenly judged as an electric leakage, causing the hybrid system warning light to turn on and the leakage detection message to be displayed. The DTC P0AA6:00 may be stored in memory. In such a condition, once the vehicle power is switched off, it may become impossible to restart the vehicle due to fail-safe mode activation. Repair Outline: Reprogram the PCM with the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS), using Mazda Diagnostic and Repair Software (MDARS). The DTC code that may appear is P0AA6:00 - High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance. The software update will re-calibrate electrical leakage detection criteria and allow vehicle re-start. Legitimate electrical leakage faults can still be detected and store DTC P0AA6:00. If DTC P0AA6:00 - High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance is still present after repair of the 7325C Recall, please diagnose the issue using the Workshop Manual or search for a current Technical Service Bulletin. |

| SSPD6 FC | 2024-08-06. Service campaign. SERVICE BRAKES; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; VISIBILITY/WIPER; BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. SSPD6 - SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM - VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) PROGRAMMING - 2024 CX-90 SSPD6 - 2024 CX-90 - Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Reprogramming: This campaign will resolve three different concerns. Unintentional warning or braking when backing up. When backing up the vehicle in a parking lot or similar area, the View Monitor Camera (VMC) may detect certain physical obstacles lower to the ground such as, the tires of an adjacent vehicle, parking lines, plants, etc. even though there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. Under this condition, the Smart Brake Support (SBS) system may determine that there is a possibility of a collision, notifying with a visual (screen display) and audible (warning sound), and the brakes possibly being applied in certain cases. Driver recognition result is not displayed (on equipped vehicles) The Driver Personalization system may not recognize the driver’s face to change the seat position settings that have been programmed. In this case the vehicle interprets the driver as a “guest” (non-personalized). The vehicle driver must be in the driver’s seat within 15 seconds of unlocking the vehicle to initiate the Driver Recognition function. Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) may reduce speed to match adjacent lane vehicle While driving on a curved road condition with the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) activated, a vehicle in the right or left lane may be detected as a vehicle in front of the CX-90 and the MRCC will unexpectedly reduce vehicle speed to match the detected vehicle. The repair will be reprogramming the VCM with modified software via M-MDS, using MDARS. There are 28,404 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories. |
