Service bulletins for the 2024 Mazda CX-90

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

07-004-24b2024-09-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some vehicles may exhibit that, after using the cabin preconditioning, when starting the engine, the CHECK ENGINE light illuminates with DTC P0531:00 (Refrigerant pressure sensor No.1 system: Function malfunction) stored in memory. NOTE: If the cabin preconditioning was not used, this TSB is not applicable. (DTC P0531:00 concern without using the cabin preconditioning is under investigation.) This is caused by improper control logic of the PCM. To eliminate this concern, the control logic of the PCM has been modified.
05-005-242024-09-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some customers may complain about a periodic noise coming from underbody while the engine is stopped by i-stop function and the transmission is shifted into Neutral, such as at a stoplight. This may be caused by improper control logic of the automatic transmission. To eliminate this concern, control software of the TCM has been modified.
03-001-24b2024-09-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some vehicles may experience differential oil leaking from the oil seal (RH side) at the front differential. This is caused by an inappropriate assembly process of the front differential to the oil pan (vehicle side). To eliminate this concern the front differential assembly process has been changed.
SSPD6 FC2024-08-06. Service campaign. SERVICE BRAKES; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; VISIBILITY/WIPER; BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. SSPD6 - SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM - VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) PROGRAMMING - 2024 CX-90 SSPD6 - 2024 CX-90 - Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Reprogramming: This campaign will resolve three different concerns. Unintentional warning or braking when backing up. When backing up the vehicle in a parking lot or similar area, the View Monitor Camera (VMC) may detect certain physical obstacles lower to the ground such as, the tires of an adjacent vehicle, parking lines, plants, etc. even though there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. Under this condition, the Smart Brake Support (SBS) system may determine that there is a possibility of a collision, notifying with a visual (screen display) and audible (warning sound), and the brakes possibly being applied in certain cases. Driver recognition result is not displayed (on equipped vehicles) The Driver Personalization system may not recognize the driver’s face to change the seat position settings that have been programmed. In this case the vehicle interprets the driver as a “guest” (non-personalized). The vehicle driver must be in the driver’s seat within 15 seconds of unlocking the vehicle to initiate the Driver Recognition function. Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) may reduce speed to match adjacent lane vehicle While driving on a curved road condition with the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) activated, a vehicle in the right or left lane may be detected as a vehicle in front of the CX-90 and the MRCC will unexpectedly reduce vehicle speed to match the detected vehicle. The repair will be reprogramming the VCM with modified software via M-MDS, using MDARS. There are 28,404 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories.
SA-011-24b2024-08-05. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Mazda has developed factory recommended scheduled maintenance services that support all major vehicle systems. Mazda recommends dealers follow the scheduled maintenance tables as cited in the vehicle-specific workshop manual or owner's manual. Services performed outside of Mazda's factory scheduled maintenance are not recommended. These services are unnecessary and create unneeded expenses for your customers.

SA-043-242024-08-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers will report their window will not auto-close. This may be caused by the vehicle learning the window current draw incorrectly because the door moved when the initialization was performed.
SA-042-242024-08-05. Service bulletin. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. Some customers will report that their fuel filler lid (door) was stuck closed and would not open to refuel the vehicle. The fuel door may or may not be missing.
SA-041-242024-08-05. Service bulletin. SEATS. Some customers may experience the automatic seat position adjustment operation being interrupted when adjusting the seat position using the driver personalization system or the position memory system. SA-030-24a2024-08-03. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some vehicles may experience a warning light ON, warning messages, or a headlamp concern. After checking the vehicle, DTC B10A3:86 may be stored with or without other DTCs. Follow the repair procedure below for B10A3:86. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
SA-019-24b2024-08-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Some customers may experience a vehicle no start (no "Ready-ON") due to the 12V battery discharged or the High Voltage (HV) battery discharged. This may be caused by: Ignition left ON when exiting the vehicle (exiting the vehicle during "Ready-On"). Door/liftgate opened multiple times without ignition "Ready-ON" or driving vehicle. Installation of aftermarket electronic devices. To minimize the battery drain concern, ensure that the vehicle shift selector is in Park when exiting and verify the ignition is turned OFF when exiting. NOTE: If multiple door/liftgate opening without "Ready-ON', drive vehicle to charge 12V battery.
SA-018-24a2024-08-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The 7G large platform utilizes a new 8-speed automatic transmission. Due to changes in the parking lock mechanism, which is now hydraulically operated, the neutral range in the transmission can only be achieved if the engine is running (or “Ready-On” for PHEV). With this design, there is no provision to manually engage neutral. This can cause challenges to dealers, customers, or towing providers when a vehicle cannot start and can't move, usually due to a discharged (dead) battery. In the event that a vehicle cannot be started or achieve “ready-on”, wheel dollies must be used to allow the vehicle to be rolled and moved. NOTE: The following procedure is for moving vehicle around the service shop and not for towing purposes. Please reference the owner's manual for towing instructions.

SA-003-24a2024-08-02. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers with a PHEV CX-90 may report a warning light or a reported issue of A/C malfunction. Upon inspection, the technician will discover that the vehicle has the P0531 diagnostic trouble code set.
30-001-242024-08-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may complain that the normal charge connector is stuck in the charging port and cannot be removed, or that it is difficult to disconnect. This may be caused by the lock pin that is installed at the charge port to fasten the normal charge cable during charging. If the worm gear that moves the lock pin has insufficient grease, the resistance to the movement increases and the lock pin cannot be released properly. To eliminate this concern, the method of grease application to the worm gear has been revised.
15-001-24a2024-08-02. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING; LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST. Update software release for emergency lane keeping and/or smart brake support operation. This TSB has been superseded by SSPD6.
09-036-242024-08-02. Service bulletin. SEATS. At PDI or when new vehicle is delivered, some customers may complain about wrinkles on the leather seat cushion and/or seat back surface. NOTE: This repair is not a permanent fix, it is meant to make new seats look their best when the vehicle is first presented to the customer. • Wrinkles may not be completely removed after the repair is completed. • Leather is a natural material and may develop some wrinkles due to aging and wear during normal useage.
09-002-24c2024-08-02. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS. Some customers may complain that the warning sound in the passenger compartment (notifies i-ACTIVSENSE warnings, seat belt warning etc.) is too loud. Some of the volume settings in the notification and warning amplifier are not properly set. The control software of the notification and warning amplifier has been modified to eliminate this concern. CX-70 / CX-90 NOTE: This repair is also applicable for a "WARNING MESSAGE FOR AVAS MALFUNCTION WITH DTC B1A03:2B" concern.
09-001-24e2024-08-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience a “Telematics Malfunction” message in the instrument cluster with DTC U3000:04-TCU (Telematics communication unit internal malfunction) stored in memory. This is caused by improper control software of the telematics communication unit (TCU). To eliminate this concern, the control software of the TCU has been modified.
