Service bulletins for the 2024 Mazda CX-90

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

552 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

SA-011-24a2024-07-05. Other. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Mazda has developed factory recommended scheduled maintenance services that support all major vehicle systems. Mazda recommends dealers follow the scheduled maintenance tables as cited in the vehicle-specific workshop manual or owner's manual. Services performed outside of Mazda's factory scheduled maintenance are not recommended. These services are unnecessary and create unneeded expenses for your customers.
SA-022-24a2024-07-05. Other. WHEELS. Some automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. The damaged area has the appearance of dark stains or discoloration.
SA-016-24a2024-07-05. Other. SERVICE BRAKES. Some vehicles exhibit brake related concerns such as brake noise, brake judder or brake dragging. If you encounter a customer complaint for any one of these symptoms, refer to the following information to understand why symptoms may occur, and to better assist the customer in resolving their specific brake concern.
SA-009-24b2024-07-05. Other. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Mazda Connected Services - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
SA-039-242024-07-05. Other. STRUCTURE:BODY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. The image and text are incorrect in the original installation instruction for Section 9, step 16 where it shows a square head nut, washer, and flange nut. The washer is not used in this portion of the installation and the image and bolt assembly description is incorrect The correct image shown below in image on the right.
SA-010-24a2024-07-05. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. A kick-down switch has been adopted to determine when the customer has fully depressed the throttle pedal for maximum acceleration. A load can be felt while the accelerator pedal is being depressed. When the accelerator pedal is depressed further, the kick-down switch is activated and a click is felt. The driver can control the kick-down by knowing the amount of accelerator depression. An electrical signal is not transmitted by the kick-down switch turning on/off.
09-030-242024-07-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience the following symptoms: No sound from some audio sources (AM, FM, SiriusXM®) after turning the ignition on. Radio station selection (AM, FM, SiriusXM®) changes unintentionally after turning the ignition on. Audio source cannot be changed. Diagnosing according to MGSS online does not solve the problem. These concerns may be caused by the remote tuner not operating properly under certain situations. To eliminate these concerns, the remote tuner control software has been modified.
09-024-24a2024-07-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may experience the following concerns: The liftgate or the trunk lid will not unlock even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. If the engine is running (POWER ON) or the ignition is turned to on (READY ON), it will unlock. The auto close operation of the power liftgate is not performed (The liftgate can be closed manually). To eliminate this concern, the control software of the DSC HU/CM (or the electronically controlled brake unit) has been modified. Customers
09-002-24b2024-07-05. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS. Some customers may complain that the warning sound in the passenger compartment (notifies i-ACTIVSENSE warnings, seat belt warning etc.) is too loud. Some of the volume settings in the notification and warning amplifier are not properly set. The control software of the notification and warning amplifier has been modified to eliminate this concern. CX-70 / CX-90 NOTE: This repair is also applicable for a "WARNING MESSAGE FOR AVAS MALFUNCTION WITH DTC B1A03:2B" concern.
09-001-24d2024-07-05. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience a “Telematics Malfunction” message in the instrument cluster with DTC U3000:04-TCU (Telematics communication unit internal malfunction) stored in memory. This is caused by improper control software of the telematics communication unit (TCU). To eliminate this concern, the control software of the TCU has been modified.
15-003-242024-07-04. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some customers may experience that, after overtaking a truck and moving in front of the truck with turn signal on, the steering assist pushes the vehicle back to the overtaking lane even without BSM warning light turning on in the outer mirror. This may be caused by an improper detection by the side radar sensors occurring in a specific driving environment. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the side radar sensors has been modified.
09-032-242024-07-04. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may complain that the rear outer handle is difficult to operate or that it gets stuck when released after being pulled once. This is caused when the rear outer handle and the rear handle bracket swell up from absorbing water and the space between them is reduced, resulting in friction and resistance when returning to the rest position after the handle has been pulled. To eliminate this concern, the rear outer handle and the rear outer handle bracket has been modified to secure space between them even if the parts absorb water.
09-028-24a2024-07-04. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience a warning message for the approaching vehicle audible system (AVAS) right after the ignition is turned on (POWER ON) while a loud noise, such as a horn, occurs close to the vehicle. Upon inspection, DTC B1A03:2B [ISB_AMP] (AVAS device circuit malfunction) is stored in memory. This may be caused by an internal initial diagnosis in the notification and warning amplifier detecting a false malfunction under this particular situation. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the notification and warning amplifier has been modified.
05-001-24b2024-07-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some customers may complain about the following symptoms: A bark, hoot, crunch, chirp, honk noise and/or vibration during 1-2 shift while accelerating from a complete stop at operating temperature. A vibration when engine restarting by i-stop function. NOTE: See attached video file "Sample Noise" at end of document. This shift noise and/or vibration may be caused by improper hydraulic pressure control of the automatic transmission. To eliminate these concerns, the control software of the TCM has been modified.
05-004-242024-07-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some customers may complain about shift shock during 1-2 shift when the vehicle is cold (ATF temperature is 86 °F (30 °C) or lower). This concern most likely occurs on the vehicle with certain versions of TCM file name as follows: This may be caused by improper hydraulic pressure control of the automatic transmission. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the TCM has been modified.
01-006-242024-07-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ENGINE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some customers may experience a driving feel concern due to a late response to start the engine (and cancel EV mode) while climbing uphill in EV mode under a low battery SOC (30% or lower) condition. This may be caused by improper control software of the PCM. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the PCM has been modified.
01-004-24a2024-07-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. Some customers may complain about a noise from the engine compartment at idle. This may be caused by the fuel injection learning cycle at idle from the high pressure fuel pump. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the PCM has been modified.
SSPD6 Warranty2024-06-05. Service campaign. VISIBILITY/WIPER; SERVICE BRAKES; VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL; BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. SSPD6 - SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM - VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) PROGRAMMING - 2024 CX-90 SSPD6 - 2024 CX-90 - Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Reprogramming: This campaign will resolve three different concerns. Unintentional warning or braking when backing up. When backing up the vehicle in a parking lot or similar area, the View Monitor Camera (VMC) may detect certain physical obstacles lower to the ground such as, the tires of an adjacent vehicle, parking lines, plants, etc. even though there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. Under this condition, the Smart Brake Support (SBS) system may determine that there is a possibility of a collision, notifying with a visual (screen display) and audible (warning sound), and the brakes possibly being applied in certain cases. Driver recognition result is not displayed (on equipped vehicles) The Driver Personalization system may not recognize the driver’s face to change the seat position settings that have been programmed. In this case the vehicle interprets the driver as a “guest” (non-personalized). The vehicle driver must be in the driver’s seat within 15 seconds of unlocking the vehicle to initiate the Driver Recognition function. Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) may reduce speed to match adjacent lane vehicle While driving on a curved road condition with the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) activated, a vehicle in the right or left lane may be detected as a vehicle in front of the CX-90 and the MRCC will unexpectedly reduce vehicle speed to match the detected vehicle. The repair will be reprogramming the VCM with modified software via M-MDS, using MDARS. There are 28,404 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories.

SA-036-242024-06-04. Other. STRUCTURE:BODY. Some customers may complain about color discrepancies (brightness differences) of the image displayed on the screen when using the 360°view monitor. As this phenomenon is not a system failure, do not make any repairs or replace any parts. Explain the cause of this occurrence to the customer as follows: The 360°view monitor is a system that provides a complete picture of the vehicle surroundings by combining the pictures captured by 4 separate cameras. These cameras are installed in the front, rear, right and left sides of the vehicle. Each camera has a color adjustment function (white balance) that operates independently from each other, which can result in color discrepancy when the combined picture is displayed on the screen. This is especially true when one of the cameras captures more green objects than the remaining cameras.
SA-035-242024-06-04. Other. ENGINE. There is a concern that some water pumps are being replaced that are not faulty, due to signs of a very small coolant leak from the bleed hole. This Service Alert is to inform you about the water pump sealing mechanism and the criteria if replacement is necessary or not.
