SA-036-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Interior parts made of resin have antistatic coating to prevent dust from sticking on the surfaces, and depending on the conditions of use, the antistatic components may crystallize slightly, giving an appearance of white stains on the surface. To remove the stains, wipe the stained surface with a towel soaked with water mixed with a small portion of a neutral detergent. If the white stains reappear again, simply wipe them again in the same way. NOTE: The antistatic effect does not deteriorate with this procedure.
SA-035-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain of a lack of power under heavy load without any warning lights or DTCs. This concern may be due to a loose or detached hood weatherstrip, which can cause a blockage or restriction in the air intake system.
01-008-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit oil leakage from the drive belt auto tensioner and rattling noises from the engine compartment. This may be caused by insufficient sealing at the drive belt auto tensioner damper when the auto tensioner fully operates under both high ambient temperature and high load conditions. To eliminate this concern, the shape of the drive belt auto tensioner damper has been changed.
SA-033-232023-06-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Use the symptom troubleshooting tables below to diagnose MAZDA CONNECT concerns.
SA-032-232023-06-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. If you encounter any type of electrical concern (e.g, dead battery, engine no start, DTC(s) stored...), interview the customer before proceeding with normal MGSS diagnosis by asking if any aftermarket devices have been installed. Aftermarket devices may be the cause of the electrical concern. Below are a few examples of unusual electrical concerns caused by aftermarket devices.
SA-031-232023-06-04. Service bulletin. WHEELS. Some automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. The damaged area has the appearance of dark stains or discoloration.
05-002-232023-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some vehicles may experience the check engine light and automatic transaxle warning light ON with one or more of these DTCs stored in the TCM memory (P0842, P0847, P0872, P0877, P0780, P1738).
01-007-232023-06-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The Mazda DCA-8000 is required for all warranty battery testing. If the Mazda DCA-8000 is not used, incorrect battery testing may result in unnecessary battery replacement. Use the following test procedures in this Service Bulletin to test Mazda vehicle batteries and to generate a Warranty Code.
SA-023-232023-05-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience any of the following: Engine no start due to battery discharge Ignition cannot be turned OFF Infotainment remains ON after the ignition is turned OFF Infotainment display is blank Commander switch is inoperative Remote transmitters are inoperative This may be caused by a liquid spill at the front cup holder.
09-019-232023-05-03. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some customers may complain of foggy rear combination lights (as shown below) after a car wash or heavy rain.
06-001-23a2023-05-03. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some vehicles may exhibit wear/peel-off of the leather steering wheel surface causing a poor appearance. This concern may be caused by an insufficient wear resistance of the steering wheel surface.
01-006-232023-05-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some vehicles may exhibit oil seepage or oil leak onto the engine front cover, which becomes more apparent with dust adhesion.
SA-012-232023-04-04. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; VISIBILITY. Some customers may report an odor or water in the HVAC system and upon inspection, the cabin air filter may be found to be wet.
SA-016-232023-04-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. There are currently 2 methods for cutting a new auxiliary key blank. A. Auxiliary Key Trace Cut Method. B. Auxiliary Key Code Cut Method
SA-013-232023-04-04. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some customers may hear noise from their headlamps. While some noise from the electric motor is normal, it may be louder in one headlamp than the other or both are significantly louder than a known good vehicle.
09-008-232023-03-04. Service bulletin. SEATS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may experience the seat ventilation system still on after the engine has been turned off, in some cases this causes the battery to be completely discharged and not rechargeable. This is caused by a deterioration in the seat ventilation control unit. To eliminate this concern, the material for the circuit of the seat ventilation control unit has been modified.
SA-010-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; VISIBILITY; EXTERIOR LIGHTING; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some customers may experience one or more electrical malfunctions after a vehicle body repair. The newly painted fender stay (2) may be causing a poor front harness (1) ground connection.
SA-007-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. The rear differential case could develop a crack in the case. NOTE: This could affect new vehicles just delivered to the dealer as well as customer vehicles. This concern is caused when the sliding bearing (1) in the coupling (2) is seized and causes the coupling component to fit loosely. The pinion shaft head (3) then contacts the differential case and causes a crack.
07-002-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Some customers may complain that the ambient temperature on the instrument cluster is displayed more than 50 °F (10°C) lower than the actual temperature, resulting in insufficient performance of the air conditioning. This is caused by inappropriate soldering in the ambient temperature sensor. To eliminate this concern, the soldering process has been enhanced since December 2021 at the supplier.
09-016-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER. Speedometer replacement procedure
09-011-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS; BACK OVER PREVENTION; VISIBILITY; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some vehicles may exhibit power outer mirror(s) that do not completely fold in and/or out. NOTE: This concern is unrelated to frozen mirrors in icy weather where snow or ice need to be removed for the mirrors to fold in and/or out. This concern may be caused by the following: The space between the mirror frame and the inner base may be too tight to allow for proper movement. Due to insufficient water tightness, water enters the electric fold-in unit and results in corrosion damage. The friction around the folding mechanism shaft may become increased.
08-002-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; AIR BAGS; AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:STATUS INDICATOR LAMP/LIGHT. Some customers may experience the airbag warning light ON with DTC B00A0:09 stored in the SAS control module memory when the battery voltage is low. DTC B00A0:09 (Occupant classification sensor internal signal output unstable). This concern is caused by the low voltage detection time of the occupant classification sensor (OCS) being too short during cranking, which causes detection of the DTC unnecessarily. The concern occurs more often in colder weather when greater electric current is consumed to start the vehicle. To eliminate this concern, the OCS has been modified to avoid unnecessary DTC detection. NOTE: Even if the voltage is recovered after the engine is started, the airbag warning light stays ON during the drive cycle. When the battery voltage becomes stable after the engine is started, the airbag system will operate normally.
08-001-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. SEAT BELTS; SEAT BELTS:STATUS INDICATOR SWITCH; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. Some vehicles may turn on the passenger seatbelt reminder, even though there is no passenger seated in the vehicle. This concern may be caused by the passenger sensor being too sensitive. To eliminate this concern, the passenger sensor has been modified.
04-001-23a2023-03-03. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Front Brake Noise Symptom 1: Some vehicles may exhibit a click noise when first moving forward or reverse from a stop OR when first applying the brakes while moving forward at slow speeds. This is caused by deteriorated grease between the brake pads and the shim, the front brake pads move upward/downward along with the brake rotors during brake application. When the vehicle moves or the brakes are applied the next time, the front brake pads move to the other side, which causes a click noise. Front Brake Noise Symptom 2: Some vehicles may exhibit the brakes having an unusual noise or vibration when applying the brake. This is caused by rust on the brake disk plate’s surface. Rear Brake Noise Symptom 1: Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak noise from the rear brakes while braking lightly and occurs more frequently when driving at slow speeds. The noise is caused by poor contact between the guide plate and the mounting support. To eliminate this concern, the material of the pads has been changed to copper-free and the specification of the shims has been changed to a coated spring with tape. Rear Brake Noise Symptom 2: Some vehicles equipped with an electric parking brake (EPB) may exhibit a grinding noise from the rear brakes when braking. This may be caused by the rear brake pads not having the capability to remove the rust from the rear brake discs. The red rust accumulated on the discs is exposed to high temperatures during braking, and consequently the rust turns black. As the black rust is too hard to be removed by the brake pads, the rust progress is accelerated, resulting in the grinding noise.
01-005-232023-03-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may experience the check engine light ON with DTC P0126:00 (Thermostat stuck open) and one or more of the following symptoms: The engine takes longer to warm up. The engine temperature gauge fluctuates. The low coolant temperature indicator (blue) light stays on longer or comes on while driving. Poor heater performance, especially at idle. NOTE: Vehicles with SKYACTIV-G 2.5T are not applicable. If DTC P2B61:00 (Coolant control valve circuit range/performance) accompanies DTC P0126:00, this TSB is not applicable. Diagnose according to the instructions on MGSS online. Due to production variety of the failsafe thermostat integrated in the coolant control valve, engine coolant may enter into a dry hollow in the failsafe thermostat, resulting in unintended opening of the failsafe thermostat at lower temperatures (104-176 °F (40-80 °C)). To eliminate this concern, the production process of the coolant control valve has been modified.
