Service bulletins for the 2023 Ford F-550

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

SSM 523332024-03-20. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE/BCM. Many body control module C (BCMC) warranty return parts are coming back with no trouble found. To verify that the BCMC is at fault prior to replacing, perform the following. First, disconnect the battery then check all BCMC connectors for terminal pushout, pin damage, spread terminals, and corrosion. Refer to Workshop Manual Section 100-00 Wire Terminal Inspection and Replacement. If none found, reconnect the BCMC and battery terminals then recheck functionality. If concern still exists, proceed with BCMC replacement.

TSB 24-20092024-02-06. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This TSB supersedes article 23-2386 to update the Service Procedure. Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 12.3 inch instrument cluster display screen may exhibit various concerns with the instrument panel cluster (IPC). This may be due to the software in the IPC. IPC software update that addresses the symptom listed in this bulletin may have been sent via Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) to connected vehicles that have automatic updates enabled through the center display screen. Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) in Professional Technician System (PTS) and check the OTA Dashboard under the Connected Vehicle tab for OTA update history. If an update to the IPC has successfully completed recently and the customer is reporting the symptoms are no longer present, this article may not apply.
SSM 522132024-01-30. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE. This may be due to the wiring harness or electrical tape contacting the cooling fan. Remove the WACM and inspect for contact between the wiring harness and the WACM cooling fan. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 414-06. If contact is found, reroute the wiring harness away from the WACM cooling fan to eliminate the noise. Use the Report a Vehicle Concern link at the bottom of OASIS to submit a report with photos attached (if possible) if contact is found between the wiring harness and the fan.
SSM 517382023-06-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles may set diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U211B:87 in various modules when a diagnostic self-test is performed, which includes: powertrain control module (PCM), advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), anti-lock brake system (ABS), power steering control module (PSCM), body control module (BCM), telematics control unit (TCU), driver door module (DDM), and/or passengers door module (PDM). This may be due to the modules DTC sensitivity during vehicle key-on/start-up. Replacement or reprogramming of these module(s) may not resolve this condition. U211B:87 should be ignored if: no other DTCs are present, no warning indicators are illuminated while the engine is running and no noticeable symptoms are present. No further service action is required.

Download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled Trusted Real-Time Operation Network (TRON) Module Authentication, and perform the TRON Diagnosis and Repair and Reset ECU on CAN BUS routines. Once both TRON routines have been completed, re-run the BCM PMI application. Verify that all BCM DTCs have cleared. Service procedures are being updated to improve this process. Monitor OASIS for updates.
SSM 516592023-06-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 09-May-2023 may exhibit an inoperative four wheel drive system and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) C00A1 in the all-wheel drive (AWD) module. Prior to beginning diagnostics, inspect ground location G239 for proper tightness of 6 lb-ft (8 Nm). G239 is located behind the right-hand side front scuff plate near the body control module (BCM). If ground is found to be properly tightened, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) for any additional diagnosis.
