Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford F-150

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some 2022-2023 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit an intermittent passive entry feature inoperative or only working when the key fob is a few inches away from the handle, even though the 12V battery state of charge (SOC) is over 50% and no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored in the BCM. This may be due to the configuration of the body control module (BCM). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to perform the Body Control Module (BCM) - Programmable Module Installation (PMI) application using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool.
SSM 527742024-08-16. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2020-2024 Escape/Explorer, 2021-2024 F-150, 2022-2024 Maverick and 2024 Nautilus vehicles equipped with a full hybrid electric vehicle (FHEV) powertrain may exhibit a cable connection error screen from the Midtronics xRC-3363 High Voltage Battery Rescue Charger. The xRC-3363 will prompt the technician to verify the low voltage connections when no actual fault is present. This may be due to the software level of the Midtronics xRC-3363 High Voltage Battery Rescue Charger.
SSM 527722024-08-16. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some 2020-2024 F-150, 2021-2024 Bronco, and 2024 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit a ticking/tapping or rattle type noise from the top front cover area of the engine on initial start-up after a cold soak of 6 hours or more that may last for 2-5 seconds. This may be due to the exhaust heat exchanger actuator.
SSM 527382024-08-06. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2024 Bronco/F-150 (non-Lightning) vehicles may exhibit a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is fully operational and there are no diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored related to the charging system. This may be due to the customer using an aftermarket programmer to change body control module (BCM) configuration.
SSM 527192024-08-06. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2023 F-150 vehicles and 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles may exhibit modules on the high-speed controller area network 2 (HS-CAN2), high-speed controller area network 3 (HS-CAN3), high-speed controller area network 4 (HS-CAN4) and/or the medium-speed controller area networks (MS-CAN) not responding to the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) and the modules on these networks fail the network test without any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) tied to the affected modules. The modules on the flexible data rate controller area network 2 (FD-CAN1) and the high-speed controller area network 1 (HS-CAN1) will communicate with the FDRS. Vehicles equipped with a power opening/closing tailgate may also exhibit an intermittent inoperative power tailgate. This may be due to the gateway module A (GWM) not being configured properly. To correct this condition, download and run the GWM - Gateway Module A (GWM) Configuration application using the latest version of the FDRS. For claiming, use causal part number 14G490 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.
TSB 24-22272024-07-29. Service bulletin. ENGINE. This article supersedes TSB 24-2166 to update the parts list. This may be due to block porosity just below the oil filter adapter near the main bearing cap outer bolt. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the engine block for a porosity leak.
