Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford F-150
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| TSB 23-2341 | 2023-11-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. This article supercedes TSB 22-2388 to update the Service Procedure and vehicle model years affected. Some 2021-2023 F-150 Raptor vehicles may experience a rattle noise from the exhaust at the exhaust tailpipe actuators. This may be due to the exhaust tailpipe actuator valves rattling inside the muffler assembly. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) and install new exhaust tailpipe actuator and/or valve springs on the exhaust tailpipe actuator valves. |

| SSM 52050 | 2023-11-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. Some 2021-2023 F-150 hybrid vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine built on or before 01-Mar-2023 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTCs P237C, P2C22 and/or P2C23 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the exhaust heat exchanger bypass control valve. To correct this condition replace the muffler inlet pipe. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 309-00D Exhaust System - 3.5L V6 PowerBoost (CN), Removal and Installation. For claiming, use causal part 5A212 and applicable labor times in Section 05 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| TSB 23-2337 | 2023-11-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CATALYTIC CONVERTOR. Some 2022-2023 F-150 hybrid vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0420 and/or P0430 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to high sulfur content in the fuel. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to remove sulfur from the catalytic converters. |
| SSM 51433 | 2023-04-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2022-2023 F-150 vehicles equipped with single exhaust may have various symptoms relating to parking brake, ABS, Traction Control, AdvanceTrac, Park Aid, and/or Locking Differential functionality. Vehicles may also exhibit one or more of the following DTCs in the ABS module: B1111, C1013, C1034, C2005, C2006, C2007, C2008. This condition may be the result of a wiring harness chafing on the left tube of the rear axle. Visually inspect the wiring harnesses in close proximity to the left axle tube, and if damage is found, repair the affected wiring harness following Wiring Diagram Cell 5. |
| SSM 51411 | 2023-04-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL. Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles may not be able to communicate with some emissions testing equipment. Engineering is aware of the concern and is currently working on a solution expected in 2nd Quarter 2023. Monitor OASIS for updates. As a temporary corrective action, technicians may attempt one of the following: (a) Leave the engine running when performing the emissions test, even when the machine prompts to shut the engine off. (b) If a Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) tool is available at the same location as the emissions testing equipment, use the FDRS tool to download and run the On-Demand DTC self-test on the audio front control module (ACM) and clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the ACM, even if none are present. Then within the same key cycle, connect to the emissions test machine and perform the emissions test immediately. |
| SSM 50963 | 2022-08-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2021-2022 F-150 Raptor vehicles built on or before 06-Jun-2022 may experience a rattle noise from the exhaust near the exhaust tailpipe actuators. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle, and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected in September 2022. Replacement of the muffler will not resolve this condition. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. |
