Service bulletins for the 2019 Tesla Model X

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

78 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

SB2139001R22022-05-31. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts might cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB22100012022-05-02. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS. On certain 2015-2020 Model X vehicles, the soldering of the connector tabs on the forward-facing camera(s) heater grid may not meet internal specifications, resulting in a small area of the windshield in front of the camera(s) to remain fogged in colder weather. The condition does not impact active safety features or windshield defogging and defrosting performance. The condition may cause certain Autopilot features to be limited or unavailable, which the customer is alerted to if trying to engage them.
SB2139001R22022-02-28. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts might cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB-20-31-006 R32021-11-08. Service bulletin. STEERING; SUSPENSION. On certain Model 3, Model Y, and Model X vehicles, there may be a water ingress path to both front upper control arm ball joints that, over time, could possibly lead to surface corrosion of these ball joints. This may result in a creaking sound coming from the front suspension when steering at low speeds and under high loads. This is exclusively an NVH condition only and does not result in premature failure of the ball joints.
SB-20-31-006 R22021-11-08. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. SB2139001R12021-11-08. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some versions of Model S and X front drive unit halfshafts might cause excessive vibrations during hard acceleration at higher ride height settings. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB-20-31-0012020-08-10. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Some Model S and Model X vehicles might have front stabilizer bars with improperly vulcanized bushings that make a squeak noise when driving over road imperfections.
SB-20-32-0042020-07-06. Service bulletin. STEERING. Some Model S and Model X vehicles might exhibit stiff steering due to corrosion at the lower steering column I-shaft U-joint.
SB-20-17-004 R12020-05-11. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. On certain Model X vehicles, the main front body harness might contact the RH front upper control arm.
SB-20-17-0042020-04-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:UPPER ARM. On certain Model X vehicles, the main front body harness might contact the RH front upper control arm.
SB-20-12-0022020-04-06. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY; EQUIPMENT; LANE DEPARTURE; STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS. On some Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles, condensation might build up inside of the B-pillar applique, potentially obscuring the B-pillar camera. This condition might cause some Autopilot features to be temporarily unavailable until the condensation goes away, such as Auto Lane Change, Blind Spot Detection, and Lane Departure Warning.
SB-20-50-0012020-03-09. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Certain Model 3, Model S, and Model X vehicles were equipped with 2nd generation Universal Mobile Connector (UMC) inline units having a proximity circuit resistor that is out of specification. This resistor within the affected UMC inline unit might prevent charging, might interrupt charging while in progress, and might affect the functionality of the UMC charge handle button when disconnecting the charge handle from the vehicle charge port.
SB-20-17-0012020-02-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. When some Autopilot HW2 and HW2.5 Model S, Model X, and Model 3 vehicles are near airport ASR-9 radar antennae, the vehicle cameras might be affected by electromagnetic interference, and Autopilot/camera alerts might be displayed.
SB-19-39-001 R32020-01-06. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; WHEELS. Older versions of the Model S and Model X LH front drive unit clevis mount contain a bushing that allows the front drive unit to move side-to-side more than expected during hard accelerations, resulting in excessive vibrations coming from the front drive unit during hard acceleration. This is exclusively an NVH issue and does not otherwise affect steering functionality, braking, or acceleration.
SB-19-11-005 R12019-10-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. For some Model X vehicles, the rear door pinch sensor carrier has a gap hiding seal that applies force to the rear door exterior jamb, which might cause paint issues.
SB-19-11-005 R12019-10-07. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. For some Model X vehicles, the rear door pinch sensor carrier has a gap hiding seal that applies force to the rear door exterior jamb, which might cause paint issues.
SB-19-11-0052019-09-09. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR:HINGE AND ATTACHMENTS. For some Model X vehicles, the rear door pinch sensor carrier has a gap hiding seal that applies force to the rear door exterior jamb, which might cause paint issues.
SB-19-44-0082019-08-12. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. On certain Model S and Model X vehicles, the 2nd generation High Voltage (HV) harness between the Front Junction Box (FJB) and the front drive unit might become disconnected, which could prompt a driver alert to bring the vehicle to a safe stop, advise the driver of limited acceleration, or prevent the driver from operating the vehicle upon startup. This condition does not affect steering or braking.
