Service bulletins for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

LI54.21-P-0803262026-07-24. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint CEL light on with no drivability concerns. Cause Signal timing error. Remedy 167, 465: SW has been released. Update the FSAM to the latest SW version. 290, 118, 243, 247: Software is still in development. This fault code does not cause a drivability concern and will clear itself within 2-3 key cycles. The vehicle can be released back to the customer.
LI40.10-P-0592482026-07-24. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY; WHEELS. Complaint Crackling and cracking noise from the outer wheel on the front axle when cornering Cause The noise is generated by a micromovement on the contact surface between the rim and the brake disk (wheel bolt group) and may be intensified by potential soiling. The more lightweight rim (AMG forged rim) transmits the noise louder; in the case of cast rims, the noise is generally not perceptible. This is not a technical defect, but rather a complaint concerning comfort. Safe operation of the vehicle is ensured at all times. Remedy Important note: The operations described below do not represent a permanent remedy in every case. The noise may reoccur again after an indefinite period of time; sanding the rims with abrasive media multiple times is not permissible. Only cleaning using the Hazet tool 4960-160 (recommendation) can be performed without any concerns each time the wheel is changed or if the complaint reoccurs. Replacing the parts (rim, wheel bolts, wheel bearings, wheel hub, brake disk) is not expedient in the event of this complaint. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clean the components of the wheel bolt connection according to the WIS instructions Sand down the rim and brake disk bowl by performing the following steps: • Manually sand rim (old design only) in area of water drain bores (Figure 1; item A), approx. 1.5 cm left and right of water drain bore (Figure 2) Note: Use abrasive paper with grit size 80. The grooving in this area should no longer be visible (sand down approx. 0.1-0.2mm) • Also sand brake disk bowl using emery cloth or abrasive paper with a grain size of 120 • For vehicles equipped with the AMG ceramic brake system (B07), abrasive paper may not be used for cleaning on the brake disk side Note: Do not use any cleaning agent when cleaning on the rim side. Cleaning using abrasive paper with a grain size of 80 will suffice. Do not apply any grease, lubricant or paste after cleaning The brake disk bowl should be "bare metal" in the area of the imprints made by the hole (Figure 3)
LI88.50-P-0802632026-07-14. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Complaint The trunk lid does not open or close completely and must be operated manually by the customer. The following fault codes are stored in the PTCM control unit: • P1CA000 • B188C2A Cause If the trunk lid is repeatedly opened manually or the vehicle has experienced undervoltage, the trunk lid loses its normalization due to faulty software coding. Remedy For vehicles with a production date up to 01/22/26 (SL (232)) or 01/27/26 (GT (192)) 1. Update the HKS N121/1 control unit and perform SCN coding. (If no new software is available, still perform SCN coding) 2. Perform normalization of component 'N121/1 (Liftgate control control unit)'. Vehicles produced from January 22, 2026 (SL (232)) and January 27, 2026 (GT (192)) onward were factory-fitted with the correct Software Calibration Number Table.
LI67.30-P-0784682026-07-14. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY. Complaint Creaking/cracking sounds detectable in upper area of the side window panes Cause A locating rivet used during vehicle production to hold the side window pane in the correct position relative to the body- in-white. Remedy The rivet can be removed as follows: 1. Loosen upper molded part of seal from B-pillar bar and body-in-white flange → CAREFUL: Do not pull off too far (attachment 1). 2. Secure rivet set on back with butyl ball so that it does not become lost during next operation steps. Protect glass using doubled-up adhesive tape (attachment 2). 3. Bore rivet head from outside (drill bit diameter 8mm) and suction off shavings at the same time → CAREFUL: Avoid shavings falling between B-pillar bar and seal (attachment 3). Drive remaining rivet inward with a punch (d=3mm) (attachment 4) and remove. The butyl ball from Step 2 prevents it from falling down. 4. Seal opening formed by bored rivet head with a butyl ball d=4mm from inside to outside (attachment 5). Seal sanding spot at B-pillar bar against corrosion with black touch-up paint pen. 5. Fix seal in place at B-pillar bar again.
LI54.71-P-0791042026-07-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint Traffic sign symbol for "Traffic Sign Assist" is blinking in instrument cluster without obvious cause usually with one of the following scenarios: • Flashing without a speed limit ("- -"). • Flashing when current vehicle speed is under speed limit. • Flashing between US speed limit symbol and European speed limit symbol. NOTE: • Verify that the concern falls under one of the attachment videos. If not, then it is outside of the scope of this LI. • This also does not cover "Traffic Sign Inoperative" messages on the instrument cluster. Cause There are two identified reasons for this concern: 1. Country code information stored incorrectly at a particular geographic latitude range. 2. Incorrect reference data when the vehicle is started and a GPS signal is not immediately available. Remedy Do not replace parts. Please open a TIPS case to the Body/Chassis/Entertainment inbox but read the below carefully: • The vehicle must be exhibiting the concern as shown in the attachment videos. • The vehicle DOES NOT need to be at the dealer, nor does it need to be brought into the dealership. • If the geographic location is known, it is very important that it is provided. • Provide any pictures or videos, if available. A new software for the head unit is scheduled for tentative release in Q3 2026.
LI35.30-P-0585662026-07-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Single throttle lift-off clunking noise from the side shaft when moving off (audible at the outboard end). The noise is heard once in each instance when changing direction of travel. Note: Sound file in attachment Cause If the complaint is eliminated by experimentally loosening the outboard collar nut (by 1 turn), the problem is due to cracking of the microweld between the wheel bearing inner race and the joint housing of the side shaft. Note: The collar nut must always be replaced after being loosened. See also LI33.20-P-078406 Remedy Coat contact surface of side shaft with wheel bearing with Molykote paint. To do this, proceed as follows: 1. Remove side shafts 2. Clean contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing before") before coating with Molykote, using "spirit" (free of dust and grease) 3. Coat contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing after") with Molykote and leave to dry for "one hour" in removed condition 4. Reinstall side shafts Note: Before using the antifriction coating (Molykote), stir it or shake it thoroughly for (at least 1 minute).
LI33.20-P-0784062026-07-14. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Complaint Creaking noise, in irregular sequence when driving slowly in combination with slight steering movements and/or Creaking/crackling noises from the area of the wheel bearing on the front axle when cornering/ maneuvering. Sound file attached for comparison. MUST match noise for proper diagnosis. NOTE: Steering functionality is not affected. Cause Contact area between wheel bearing and steering knuckle. See also: LI35.30-P-058566 (Throttle Lift-Off Noise - Rear) LI33.30-P-056665 (Throttle Lift-Off Noise - Front) LI40.10-P-059248 (Wheel cracking noise when cornering) Remedy 1. Perform Operation A and evaluate by testing vehicle. 2. If noise is still present after re-testing: • If 192/232 chassis, verify FIN is in the listed range below in "Operation B" and perform. • If not 192/232 chassis or vehicle is a 192/232 not in the listed FIN range, additional verifications of where the noise is coming from are needed. Use multiple channel NVH method to narrow down location. Verify the LI's listed above were completed or if there are other similar noises associated with the chassis (Example: 192/232 also has under panel noises and an associated LI). Operation A: 1. Clean contact surfaces of wheel bearing and steering knuckle with brake cleaner as seen in the attached pictures. NOTE: The front area of the wheel bearing and the seals must not come into contact with the cleaner, otherwise, the sealing rings will be damaged. 2. Clean threads of wheel bearing mounting. 3. Thinly coat contact surfaces of wheel bearing, steering knuckle, and axle mating face with Molykote (annular joint grease). See the attached steering knuckle and wheel hub pictures for reference. NOTE: Axle mating face greasing is also covered in LI35.30-P-058566 and LI33.30-P-056665. LI00.20-P-0784242026-06-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint The remaining time shown on the instrument cluster in the workshop menu (days to next due service) is implausible (>365 days) for the following conditions: • for the date of the vehicle handover • or the last conducted and confirmed Service A/B Cause Case 1: Observe the following on vehicles with a disconnected on-board electrical system battery (12V/48V): • The period in which the on-board electrical system battery is disconnected cannot be counted by the maintenance computer. • As soon as the on-board electrical system battery is connected again, the maintenance computer automatically starts counting without making a correction to the remaining time (days until the next service). Case 2: If a disconnected on-board electrical system battery (12V/48V) can be ruled out as the cause, it is possible that: The daily turnover counter inside the electronic ignition lock (EIS) has experienced memory loss. This anomaly was detected in the EIS software from modification year 2022 onward. To do this, please check the plausibility of the daily turnover counter as follows: If "TUSZ Assyst Plus" < the actual days since "Handover Date/DAY/Month/Year," then proceed to remedy for case 2. Information: A variation of 2-3 days is still considered plausible. If "TUSZ Assyst Plus" is plausible, or if a remaining time of 365 days is permanently displayed, check whether the vehicle has been handed over. These types of cases have different causes. (The respective values are included in the maintenance data in the control unit log of the instrument cluster). Remedy For case 1: When the on-board electrical system battery is disconnected, this period must always be taken into account for these vehicles, and the following condition must be met for a correct calculation to be made: • (A): The number of days from the "date of vehicle handover or last service A/B" to the "date on which the vehicle arrived at the workshop." • (B): Remaining time (days until the next service, as shown in the instrument cluster). • (C): Days on which the on-board electrical system battery was disconnected. The formula requires the following condition to be complied with. 365 - (A) [days] = (B) - (C) [days] For case 2: If the on-board electrical system battery (12 V/48 V) was not disconnected and the remaining time shown in the customer or workshop menu on the instrument cluster (days until the next service) is implausible in terms of the date of the vehicle handover or the last performed and confirmed service A/B, or the condition in the formula was not met, the service can still be performed and confirmed. For vehicles arriving more than 90 days after the service due date, the DSB service history can only be corrected by re-entering "Vehicle regularly serviced." A software fix for the EIS (electronic ignition lock) is currently in planning. The objective is to have a remedy available for 2026. Until the remedy is available, it is advisable to inform the customer that the next service is due again after 365 days at the latest.
LI54.10-P-0800532026-06-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint Discharge of 12 V battery in the event of a longer non-operational time - model series 232 and model series 192 Cause Increased quiescent current Remedy 1. Conduct quiescent current measurement. DO NOT USE A DVOM IN LINE - this will blow the fuse in your meter. Use an amp clamp with either a DVOM or XENTRY Scope and wait until the vehicle has gone to sleep (usually takes 6-10 minutes). Once the vehicle is asleep, observe the quiescent current for 10-15 minutes and note down the values. A stable quiescent current should be less than 50 mA. Values higher than this figure are considered not OK (NOK) and require further analysis. 2. If the quiescent current is higher (> 50 to 100 mA): • Check whether software updates are available for relevant control units: Door control units (DMD (N69/1), DMP (N69/2), DMRL (N69/3), DMRR (N69/4)), EIS (N73/3), PTCU (N127), OHCM (N70), GW (N73/3*1) • After installing the updates: measure the quiescent current again • If the quiescent current is < 50 mA, the vehicle is OK • If the quiescent current is between 50 and 100 mA, continue with step 5 • If the quiescent current is between 100 and 200 mA, continue with step 3 • If the quiescent current is between 200 mA and 1 A, continue with step 4 3. For no-load current values of 100 to 200 mA: • Lock all doors and hood so that the control unit recognizes the door status as "closed" but the doors are open. • Disconnect door separation points (A-pillar connection) when the vehicle is asleep, starting with the driver's side • Document the quiescent current value • If there is no change: Disconnect the door separation point on the front passenger side and note down the value again • If the quiescent current falls below 50 mA after the door separation point is opened, the respective outer door handle must be replaced • If the quiescent current drops below 50mA, the draw has been addressed and the vehicle can be released • If the quiescent current remains above 50mA after the relevant door handles have been successfully replaced, please create a TIPS case to the LV/HV inbox and retain the removed door handles for the time being • If the quiescent current does not change after the door separation point is opened, please carry out step 5 4. For quiescent current values between 200 mA and 1 A: • Important: Before pulling out F320 and F304, the tow-away protection and interior protection must be deactivated to prevent an alarm from triggering • Lock all doors and hood so that the control unit recognizes the door status as "closed" but the doors are open. • Wait until the vehicle has gone to sleep • Pull out the fuses one after the other, starting with F323 (PTCU CU/N127), and note down the quiescent current value • Perform the same test one at a time if the value is still high for each additional fuse: F119 (PTCU CU/N127), F324 (EIS CU/N73/3), F305 (EIS CU/N73/3), F320 (OCP CU/N70), F304 (OCP CU/N70) • If pulling out the fuse reduces the quiescent current to below 50 mA, replace the corresponding control unit. After replacing, please measure and assess the quiescent current again • If the quiescent current remains unchanged after the fuses listed above are pulled out, please carry out step 5 5. If the quiescent current remains above 50 mA after all controls have been implemented: • Create a TIPS case • Document all the completed steps and measurement results • Attach the XENTRY Scope trace of the draws that you have seen and identify where certain steps were taken. • Attach the latest N73 and N73/3*1 CUL's • If the quiescent current is higher than 1 A, the bus keep awake control unit should be identified via the EIS gateway
LI00.20-P-0807032026-06-16. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint Service code B1 displayed in the customer menu does not match the workshop code displayed in the workshop menu, e.g., 505 or 550A, which includes a service A. Cause The root cause is currently being investigated. Remedy To determine the cause, the instrument cluster control unit (N133/1) and powertrain control unit (N127) logs are required before confirming the service or correction using XENTRY Diagnosis. Please open a TIPS case to BCE inbox with the requested information in the attachments.

LI54.10-P-0806022026-05-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Complaint 48V battery (A66) part numbers A 000 982 78 24, A 000 982 57 30, A 000 982 88 31, A 000 982 50 32, A 000 982 87 32) may trigger a fault message ("48 V Service Required" with fault codes P0ADA91, P0ADE91, P0AA100, P0ADD00 or P0AA000) in the instrument cluster. This fault message may prevent the 48 V battery contactors from opening automatically if the 12 V power supply is interrupted. In this case, the 48 V on-board electrical system, including connected components, remain energized. Cause The contactors of the 48 V battery do not open, resulting in residual voltage (> 3V) even when the 12 V battery is disconnected. Remedy When working on the 48 V on-board electrical system or connected components, ensure the component being repaired is de-energized in the 48 V system after disconnecting the 12 V ground line. Use a DVOM and ensure that there is less than 3V across the 48V terminals. • If the voltage is less than 3V, the repair can be continued in accordance with the WIS documentation. • If the voltage is greater than 3V, disconnect the ground line from the 48 V on-board electrical system battery and secure from contacting any ground points of the vehicle before continuing the repair. Once the work has been completed, follow the procedure for clearing the 48 V battery fault message as specified.
LI82.30-P-0592392026-05-20. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY/WIPER. Complaint There are several types of complaint about noises or poor windshield wiper wiping performance: A: Wiper blades squeaking, chattering, shuddering B: The windshield is not wiped completely (streaking) C: During the downward movement water is pulled back onto the windshield from the A-pillar (Figure 1) D: After windshield cleaning, water keeps spraying onto the windshield for several wipe cycles (Figure 2) A1: The windshield and wiper blades are contaminated with residues from car washing facilities, identifiable by the water beading. The resulting differences in the friction values between the wiper blades and the windshield can excite the wiper blades to vibrate. Note: It is mostly wax residue from the washer system, but also water-repellent nano-particle coating for paint and/or silicone-based washer fluid, that could cause this problem. A partially dry windshield also has different friction values, which can likewise result in squeaking of the wiper blades A2: The wiper blades are worn by mechanical damage (wiper lip damaged by ice or insect debris, or deformed by long periods of disuse). A3: Incorrect angle of incidence of the wiper arms to the windshield. Because of this, the rubber lip of the wiper blade may not flip over at the reversal point. Cause B: B1: Wax/ dirt residues on the windshield B2: Wiper blades deformed or worn B3: Downforce of wiper arm not OK (Figure 3) Cause C: Water is pulled back onto the windshield by the differential pressure created as the wiper arm moves downwards. Cause D: Washer water collects in the fastening of the wiper blade and is blown onto the windshield by the airstream over several wipe cycles. Note and supporting information: Wiper blades are wear parts which, even when "not used" for long periods (kept in park position), may become permanently deformed and damaged. Further stresses on the rubber wiper blade arise due to various environmental influences which progressively change the effectiveness of the rubber wiper blade and accelerate the aging process. Due to the natural aging process and wear, the wiper blades should be replaced twice a year, preferably in Spring and Fall (see operator's manual). Remedy Remedy A: A1: Cleaning entire windshield with A 000 986 40 71. A2: Checking water's flow behavior after windshield has been cleaned (see Video 1). If, after cleaning, there are still areas with water beading, then the cleaning process must be carried out again until a rejection reaction is no longer present. • Note: On the vehicle in the video (Video 1), water still beads on the bottom left of the windshield. The windshield is still not properly clean, even though it appears to be clean. The windshield is only properly clean when there are no more areas on the windshield where water beads. A3: Replace wiper blades with genuine wiper blades. Important: Only exchange wiper blades if windshield no longer has water-repellent areas Note: Replacement of wiper blades is not covered under warranty and can be replaced at the expense of the customer. Remedy B: B1: Clean windshield with intensive cleaner A 000 986 40 71. Important: Do not clean the wiper blades otherwise the graphite coating will be damaged. B2: Replace wiper blades with genuine wiper blades • Note: Replacement of wiper blades is not covered under warranty and can be replaced at the expense of the customer. B3: Check the wiper arm for excessive resistance in the bearing. Restore mobility or replace wiper arm if necessary. Remedy C: Problem inherent in design for which there is no technical remedy. Exception: X204 up to 02/2014. In these vehicles, it is possible to install the design configuration of vehicles as of 02/2014. This includes wiper arms (styled arms) with improved behavior in this respect. It is also necessary to replace the wiper blades because the styled arms feature a Top Lock connection (previously Side Lock).
