Service bulletins for the 2019 Mazda Mazda3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 15-003-3597a | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE; EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Some vehicles may exhibit DTC B14F0:76 [VCM] (Forward sensing camera (FSC) deviation) stored in memory and the i-ACTIVSENSE warning light (amber) on after BCM replacement. This is caused by the learning value of the forward sensing camera (FSC) aiming being initialized after BCM replacement due to a software malfunction of the FSC. To correct this concern, the FSC software will be modified to not initialize the value of the FSC aiming after BCM replacement. |
| MT-003-19 | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some customers may complain about high engine oil consumption. Before attempting any repairs, verify the complaint by using the guideline below to determine if an engine repair is necessary: |
| SA-044-19 | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The "FORCED IGNITION ON PROCEDURE" was made available to dealers through this service alert. |
| SA-043-19 | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. On 7th generation vehicle (2019-2020 Mazda3 (BP) and 2020 CX-30 (DM)), when the door is opened/closed with the ignition switch off, the battery current is approximately 7A, which is three times larger than previous generation models (2.5A on Mazda6 (GL)). In addition, after the door is closed, a 6A current continues for 6 minutes on 7th generation vehicles. This is why frequent door operation in the show room may result in low battery voltage. To avoid a drained battery, especially when the vehicle is displayed for customers in a show room (with door operation being more frequent and battery consumption being larger), it is highly recommended to perform more frequent battery maintenance than for previous generation models. |
| 09-037-19-3636 | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may experience one or both of the following: The “Next Service Date” setting under Vehicle Status Monitor in the center display changes to “Manual” by itself after being set to “Automatic” and even with the “Manual” setting in the display, the internal calculation works as if set to “Automatic”. The “Engine oil change” message is then displayed when the oil deterioration level reaches the threshold. This is caused by a communication error between the PCM, BCM and CMU. The average fuel economy display in the instrument cluster gradually gets worse after 1,200 miles (2,000 km) of driving without a reset regardless of the actual driving situation. This concern is only present in the display and not in the actual fuel consumption. To correct these issues, the software of the BCM has been modified. |
| 09-036-19-3623 | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Some customers may complain about an instrument cluster warning message "Auto Light System Malfunction. Turn On/Off Lights Manually". DTC B10AD:09 (Humidity sensor/solar radiation sensor/auto light sensor/rain sensor malfunction) may also be stored with the exterior light warning indicator light ON.display. This is caused by the rain sensor detecting a temperature higher than the operation range and temporarily stopping the auto light system. As a fail-safe, the low beam headlights are turned on. The auto light system will start to operate normally when the A/C is turned on and the interior temperature drops. To correct this concern, the heat resistance performance of the rain sensor has been enhanced. |
| 07-006-19-3629a | 2019-10-30. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some customers may experience that after starting the engine, the auto A/C blows warm air for about 10 minutes and then blows cool air as desired. This concern occurs when the ambient temperature is within a certain range (approx. 16-25 C / 61-77 F). This is caused by the control software of the Dash-Electrical Supply Unit (Dash-ESU) not being appropriate for this specific situation. To correct this concern, the control software of the Dash-ESU has been modified. |
| SA-042-19 | 2019-10-04. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Customers having MAZDA CONNECT concerns should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure. NOTE: Before proceeding: Confirm that the Connectivity Master Unit (CMU) is updated to the latest software version. Go to MGSS - Infotainment - MAZDA CONNECT Updates, Confirm that the customers device is updated to the latest software version. Apple Carplay/Android Auto FAQ, go to SA-001/19. |
| MT-002-19 | 2019-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. If an engine assembly is replaced after a catastrophic internal mechanical failure, clean the intake manifold internally before installing a replacement engine assembly. If the intake manifold is not cleaned properly, the replacement engine may fail prematurely. Metallic debris from the old engine (with catastrophic internal mechanical failure) may rest inside the intake manifold. When the new engine assembly is installed, debris in the intake manifold will be ingested into the new engine and cause internal damage. |
| 09-035-19-3637 | 2019-10-04. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. If the body control module (BCM) or the LF control unit (LFU) has been replaced and configuration has been performed, communication between the BCM and the LFU may not work properly due to a difference of the software level. Symptoms: If the BCM has been replaced: Without a remote transmitter - the door lock switch at the liftgate will not lock doors, With a remote transmitter - the door lock switch at the liftgate will lock the doors even when the front or rear door(s) are opened, If the LFU has been replaced: Without a remote transmitter - the door lock switch at the liftgate will lock the doors with the answer back sound. |

Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a Special Service Program (SSP) to extend the warranty coverage for a concern regarding the Mazda Connect Center Display on certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles produced from June 11, 2013 through September 3, 2016. The warranty coverage for an applicable repair has been extended to 7 years (84 months) from the original warranty start date, with no mileage limitation. If you are a recipient of this notice, your vehicle is included in this warranty extension program. What is the problem? On certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles, the Mazda Connect touch screen in the center display may not accept touch commands properly or may operate by itself (ghost touch). The film inside the touch screen may be corroded due to moisture, which might adhere on the lens of the touch screen. This corrosion may cause the malfunction of the touch screen. This warranty extension program applies only to the repair of the center display with this concern. |
