Service bulletins for the 2018 Mazda CX-5
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some vehicles may exhibit the rear parking sensor beeping without any obstacles behind it when the shift lever is shifted into Reverse. This concern only occurs when the rear USB power outlet (1) is broken. This is caused by noise from USB interference with the harness of the rear parking sensor (when the USB power outlet is broken). To correct this issue, the configuration of the USB power outlet has been changed to improve durability. |
| 09-032-19-3579 | 2019-08-21. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION. Some customers may experience improper operation of the rear parking system with beep sounds coming from the rear parking sensor when there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. This occurs when the blower fan is on (at any fan speed) and the transmission is in "R" position. The concern is caused by electrical noise from the blower fan controller circuit affecting the rear parking sensor circuit. This condition may be caused by the FSC not being durable enough in high temperatures. [Earlier production Mazda3, Mazda6, CX-3 and CX-5 until summer 2017] The warning lights may stay on and these functions are deactivated until the ignition switch is turned off. Both U3000:98 (FSC) and U3000:04 (FSC) are stored. U3000:04 - Forward sensing camera (FSC) internal malfunction. If only U3000:04 (FSC) is stored, this TSB does not apply. This condition may be caused by FSC control logic that is too sensitive. When the FSC detects DTC U3000:98 during high temperature, it stops the internal communication and stores DTC U3000:04. DTC U3000:04 will not clear and SCBS/SBS, LAS/LDWS, and/or HBC functions will not resume until the ignition switch has been turned OFF even if the temperature of the FSC cools. |
