The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
SSM 460732017-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SiriusXM Traffic is only available on vehicles equipped with navigation, only in select markets and requires an active subscription to SiriusXM Traffic information. If SiriusXM Traffic will not load attempt the following procedure. Turn the ignition off, open and close the drivers door, wait for 3 minutes, then drive the vehicle outside to obtain a clear view of the sky. SiriusXM Traffic should recover. If SiriusXM Traffic does not recover continue to monitor OASIS for future updates. Engineering is aware of this concern and no component replacement or any software re-flashes should be performed at this time. The SYNC version can be confirmed via OASIS.
SSM 460522017-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STRUCTURE:BODY:DOOR. Some 2017 Continental vehicles are equipped with a new soft closing door/door cinch feature. This system takes over after the user gently closes the door. The soft close system will then automatically close the door, making it secure. This system is limited to 25 cycles between each ignition cycle. This is to prevent the vehicle battery from losing charge. The system also does not work if the vehicle battery charge is low or in transportation mode. Do not attempt any repairs for these conditions. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-14 for further information on this feature.
