Service bulletins for the 2015 Ford Mustang

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

145 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

SSM 475232018-12-03. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Some 2015-2018 Shelby GT350 and GT350R vehicles may require brake service or repairs to be performed. The vehicles should not have the brake rotors machined when servicing the brake system. Replacement of brake rotors is the only acceptable service of brake rotors on GT350 and GT350R vehicles. GT350 and GT350R vehicles are equipped with a brake system designed for high speed and superior fade resistance. Occasional brake squeal and elevated levels of brake dust may occur. This is normal and does not affect brake system performance. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 206-00 and the Mustang Owner's Manual and the Shelby GT350 Owner's Manual Supplement for further information.
TSB 18-22902018-12-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015-2017 Mustang GT350/GT350R vehicles built before 30-Jun-2017 may exhibit an Exhaust Mode Selection Not Available or Drive Mode Not Available message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) when attempting to change the exhaust mode or drive mode. This may be due to an exhaust tailpipe valve that has frozen in place when the vehicle was started or driven in temperatures at or below freezing. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
TSB 18-23222018-11-19. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2015-2017 Mustang GT350/GT350R vehicles may exhibit a hesitation or surge in the vehicle with no DTCs present. This may be accompanied by an inoperative cruise control system. This may be due to a transmission output shaft flange nut that has become loose, allowing the output shaft tone ring to move in relation to the output shaft causing an erroneous signal. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SSM 474892018-09-24. Service bulletin. STEERING. When connecting the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) and Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) to the DLC located on the driver side under the steering column at the GWM, make sure that the ignition is off before connecting the VCM. If the ignition is on or the engine is running during the connection, it can result in various warning lights being illuminated with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), no start, no crank conditions or the IPC inoperative. If a vehicle displays these issues, disconnect the equipment from the DLC and disconnect the vehicle battery. Wait 10 minutes and reinstall with the ignition off. Clear any DTCs present and retest.
TSB 18-22562018-09-24. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Some 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles may exhibit poor A/C performance. If the cause of this is found to be a refrigerant leak from the evaporator, it is recommended to replace only the evaporator as opposed to the entire climate control housing. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SSM 474332018-09-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE; EQUIPMENT. Some 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0300 through P0308 present. A noticeable misfire may or may not accompany these DTCs. If normal diagnostics do not lead to a root cause for this concern, remove the intake manifold from the vehicle and verify the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) plates move when the IMRC actuators are moved by hand. These plates are visible through the outlet ports of the intake manifold. If the IMRC plates do not move when the IMRC actuators are moved by hand, the intake manifold should be replaced. For claiming, use causal part 9424 and applicable labor operations in Section 9 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 474292018-09-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2015 and 2016 Mustang vehicles built on or before 4/22/2016 may exhibit a partial outage of the rear tail, turn signal or stop lamps following a vehicle start with a low battery. This may be accompanied by any combination of DTCs B1271, B1272, B1273, B1274, B1275 and B1276. The condition typically clears on vehicle restart. Reprogram the BCMB module to the latest calibration using IDS release 110.01 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. Use applicable labor operations from Section 10 of the SLTS manual and use causal part 13C788.
SSM 473642018-07-23. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT. Some 2015-2018 Mustang GT350s may exhibit an engine oil leak that appears to be originating from the oil filter adapter or oil cooler. If the leak appears to be originating from the oil cooler, be aware that the leak may actually be originating from the oil filter adapter, and oil may run down the oil cooler tubes and drip off of the cooler, making it appear that the leak is originating from the oil cooler. If the true source of the leak is caused by a damaged O-ring where the oil cooler tubes meet the oil filter adapter, be aware that these O-rings are now available as a separate service part from the oil cooler tubes. Replacement O-rings can be ordered using part number FR3Z-00815-A. For claiming, use causal part 6B850 and applicable labor operations in Section 6 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
TSB18-21662018-07-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER.

The Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual has been revised for diagnosing electronic throttle bodies (ETBs). The ETC_ACT and ETC_DSD PIDs should not used to diagnose possible ETB concerns. The IDS has a limited refresh rate when reading these PIDs and cannot display quickly enough to validate a concern. The PCM automatically monitors these inputs more accurately and will set diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) when appropriate. Using these PIDs for diagnostics will lead to inaccurate results and improper ETB replacements. If a concern is intermittent and no DTCs are present, refer to historical DTCs and the PC/ED, Section 3 No DTCs Present Index chart for further information.
TSB 16-01212017-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. Some 20152016 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 2.3L GTDI engine and built on or before 1/1/2016 may exhibit a lack of power with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0299. This may be due to the turbocharger wastegate actuator rod coming disconnected from the wastegate. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
