Certain 2011 through 2015 Model Year Fiesta and 2012 through 2016 Model Year Focus Vehicles Equipped with a DPS6 Automatic Transmission; Transmission Control Module Extended Warranty Coverage REASON FOR THIS SUPPLEMENT Non-Ford Part Usage: • Vehicles that are still covered by the 8 years/80,000-mile Emissions warranty coverage MUST be serviced with a NEW Ford Motor Company TCM. • Vehicles outside of or exceeding the 8 years/80,000-mile coverage are authorized to use a used Ford Motor Company TCM, a refurbished original Ford TCM, or an aftermarket TCM that will successfully complete the required Ford software updates.

14M02-S52021-08-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Ford is extending the warranty coverage on the DPS6 automatic transmission TCM to 10 years of service or 150,000 miles from the warranty start date of the vehicle, whichever occurs first. This extended warranty coverage will address intermittent symptoms of loss of transmission engagement while driving, no-start, or a lack of power.
SSM 498212021-06-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2015-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 497982021-06-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER:SENSOR/SENDING UNIT; EQUIPMENT. 2015-2018 Focus service parts transmissions part # F1FP-7000-VB / F1FZ-7000-P built on 1-Aug-2020 and through 01-Mar-2021 may have an incorrect input speed sensor A (ISSA) shim thickness. This may cause an intermittent input speed sensor diagnostic trouble code (DTC). In the event of shift issues or skip shift events, check and verify that the ISSA speed sensor shim is 2.0 mm (0.079 in) F1FZ-7Z101-A before proceeding with further diagnostics.

SSM 479762019-06-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission it is imperative that the converter pilot hub be greased with Motorcraft Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5-A even if grease was not applied from the factory. Also verify that the engine/transmission alignment dowel pins are present as well as the engine crankshaft dowel pin, if equipped, when installing the transmission. Failure to adequately lubricate the converter hub greatly increases the likelihood of the flexplate cracking in the future. Missing dowels may cause a misalignment issue also resulting in a premature failure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-01.

SSM 469002018-01-29. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some vehicles may exhibit a no start condition with an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and a DTC P161A after PCM replacement. This may be due to the parameter reset procedure not being properly completed. To clear this DTC, use the Ford Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) service tool or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software, select - Toolbox - Body - Security - PATS Functions - Parameter Reset. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the procedure. This procedure will transfer the existing Key ID information between the modules without the need of having 2 programmed PATS keys present. There is no need to program keys when the PCM is going to be replaced. Additional information can be found in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-01. Missing or lost keys are not warrantable.
SSM 468502017-12-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2015-2017 Focus vehicles equipped with a dual clutch power-shift transmission may exhibit excessive engine vibration. This may be due to a binding condition with the powertrain mounts. Before replacing components, Perform the powertrain mount neutralization procedure. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00.
tsb17-22172017-12-14. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2016-2017 Focus RS vehicles built on or before 02-Aug-2017 may exhibit an Unable to Change Drive Mode message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) and/or an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTC P26FE stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) or Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software (FJDS) release 106.04 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com.
SSM 460682017-08-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some Focus Vehicles built on or after 21-Jul-2016 thru 15-Sep-2016 equipped with the DPS6 Transmission exhibiting concerns of shift quality may have an incorrectly aligned clutch actuator spring retainer (7515). While performing transmission or clutch repair on vehicles within these date ranges please Refer to Works Shop Manual (WSM) 307-01A Removal and Installation, Clutch Actuator for proper installation and alignment of these Spring Retainers.
TSB 16-01292017-08-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Some 2011-2016 Fiesta and 2012-2016 Focus vehicles equipped with a DPS6 transmission may exhibit intermittent concerns of loss of transmission engagement while driving, intermittent no start or a loss of power. These symptoms are usually accompanied by an illuminated Check Engine lamp. Additional symptoms may include messages in the message center indicating hill start assist is not available, that parking aid malfunction/service is required or the transmission PRNDL/S gear selector on the instrument cluster may flash. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U0100, U0101, U1013 and/or P0606 will be present or stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SSM 464212017-05-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). 2013-2017 FOCUS S MODEL VEHICLES DO NOT HAVE AN OUTSIDE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE DISPLAYED IN THE IPC AND THIS FEATURE CANNOT BE ADDED.
