Service bulletins for the 2022 Ford F-150
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 50614 | 2022-03-22. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L PowerBoost engine and built on or before 31-Jan-2021 may experience an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostics trouble codes (DTCs) P04F0 And/Or P04EE stored in the PCM. This may be due to the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor becoming unseated from it's mount on the evaporative (EVAP) tube that connects to the top of the fuel pump and sender unit, causing an EVAP system leak near the top of the fuel tank. If the sensor is found to be unseated, resecure the sensor by pressing the sensor down vertically and retest. If the concern is resolved, the 9D683 assembly needs to be replaced due to the sensor retainers becoming weak. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-13D. For claiming, use causal part 9D683 and applicable labor operations in Section 09 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |

| TSB 22-2105 | 2022-03-22. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:AUTONOMOUS/SELF DRIVING:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT. Some 2021-2022 F-150/Mach-E vehicles equipped with BlueCruise may experience loss of BlueCruise hands-free driving mode availability. This may be due to an expired BlueCruise map file in the gateway module (GWM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the GWM. |
| TSB 22-2084 | 2022-03-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles built on or before 22-Feb-2022 may experience a false alarm activation event with a trailer connected. A Security System Detected A Trailer Disconnect message may also display in the FordPass app. This may be due to various software parameters in the trailer module (TRM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TRM, driver door module (DDM) and the passenger door module (PDM). |
| SSM 50567 | 2022-03-15. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; COMMUNICATION:MANUFACTURER TELEMATICS. Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles built on or after 08-Nov-2021 may exhibit inoperative connected vehicle features, such as the activate button missing in FordPass, unable to connect wirelessly to Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, or in-vehicle wifi hotspot unavailable and TCU diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U2100. This may be due to various software parameters in the TCU. To correct the condition, download and run the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) Configuration app on the latest level of the Ford diagnostic scan tool. For claiming use causal part number 14C708 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 50473 | 2022-02-16. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. 2021-2022 various Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an erroneous diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U1A01:93 stored in the telematics control unit (TCU). This may be due to various software parameters within the TCU. If this DTC is identified during normal diagnostics, but the vehicle does not exhibit any customer concerns around the TCU operation, clear this DTC and no further repairs are recommended. If the DTC returns after being cleared or if the vehicle exhibits connectivity concerns with the TCU, continue with normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics. If set erroneously, this DTC does not cause any observable concerns or warning messages and does not affect vehicle performance or durability. Ford is developing a software update which will be delivered to the vehicle via an over-the-air (OTA) TCU update in July 2022 to prevent this DTC from setting erroneously. |
| SSM 50418 | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL; SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:ABS WARNING LIGHT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Some 2022 F-150 vehicles not equipped with a trailer brake control module (TBM) may exhibit diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U0137 in the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. This may be due to ABS module software. If ABS module DTC U0137 is present and the vehicle is not equipped with a trailer brake module, the DTC should be ignored. If the vehicle is equipped with a TBM and a U0137 is present in the ABS, continue diagnostics in the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 206-10. |
| SSM 50412 | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION:COIL. Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit engine misfire concerns with or without DTCs. If diagnostics lead to ignition coil replacement, swap the ignition coil(s) between the misfired cylinder and a known good cylinder. Only replace the ignition coil if the misfire concern follows that particular ignition coil. If the misfire condition does not follow the coil, apply dielectric grease to the boot, reinstall the ignition coil in the original cylinder and continue normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-07C. |
| SSM 50388 | 2022-02-04. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Some 2020-2022 F-Super Duty/Explorer/Aviator and 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a Front Camera Fault, Lane Keeping Fault, and/or Collison Warning Not Available message with various diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored in the image processing module A (IPMA). If programming fails or Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) states a file failed to flash after replacing the IPMA or reprogramming IPMA software, test the battery using any approved Rotunda tool including the GR-190, GRX-3590, and DCA-8000. Fully recharge or replace the battery according to results of the tool. Set the battery charger to maintain battery voltage between 12.6 and 13.6 volts during the entire programming procedure. The IPMA programming procedure may take several hours to complete due to the size of the software files required. |
| SSM 50360 | 2021-12-26. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles may exhibit a Reverse Brake Assist Unavailable message displayed that will not clear when DTCs are not present and the vehicle has been road tested to relearn the steering wheel angle center. If this is the case, enable the rear view camera in the touchscreen and note what is seen in the image. The bottom of the image should include most of the rear bumper, but the license plate or the tailgate mounted Ford emblem should not be visible. The rear bumper should also be centered in the image. If the camera is pointing too far downward or is off center, apply some flock tape to adjust the camera angle and resecure the camera while noting the effect on the image. Once the camera image has been corrected, perform the appropriate FDRS camera alignment procedure then verify the Reverse Brake Assist Unavailable message is no longer present. |
