Service bulletin SSM 50412
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit engine misfire concerns with or without DTCs. If diagnostics lead to ignition coil replacement, swap the ignition coil(s) between the misfired cylinder and a known good cylinder. Only replace the ignition coil if the misfire concern follows that particular ignition coil. If the misfire condition does not follow the coil, apply dielectric grease to the boot, reinstall the ignition coil in the original cylinder and continue normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-07C.

| SSM 51827 | 2023-08-14. Service bulletin. Some 2022-2023 F-150 and 2023 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 01-Oct-2022 equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine may exhibit reduced engine power on startup and an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2101 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers they can remove this condition and continue to drive the vehicle by turning off the vehicle and leaving the vehicle in Key OFF, Engine OFF for at least 30 seconds, then restarting the engine. Engineering is working on a solution that is expected in October 2023. Monitor OASIS for additional information and schedule service appointments once the repair becomes available. |
| SSM 50652 | 2022-04-13. Service bulletin. Some 2021 F-150 vehicles built on or before 24-Feb-2021 may experience the anti-theft intrusion alarm system activating when there is no evidence of an intrusion. This may be due to the intrusion alarm system sensing vibrations that are characteristic to other vehicle systems. To correct the condition, update the body control module (BCM) to the latest software level using the appropriate scan tool. After BCM reprogramming completes follow the on-screen prompts to relearn the TPMS sensors. For claiming, use causal part 15K609 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E/F-150 vehicles may exhibit audio settings resetting after a key cycle, Android Auto concerns, Sirius presets missing more than three pages after a key cycle, touchscreen intermittent freezing/locking up, Pro Power Onboard messaging confusion after a tripped circuit breaker (F-150 only), WiFi keyboard defaulting to UK English, WMA files not playing properly from a USB and/or Bluetooth connectivity concerns. There may be a software concern in the APIM. Ford is working on an update that is expected via over the air (OTA) in July 2021. The software will update automatically if Vehicle Connectivity is turned ON. Inform the customer that they can continue to drive the vehicle. Contact the customer in August to determine if they received the update. If the customer needs assistance, schedule a follow-up appointment. Monitor OASIS for updates. |
