Service bulletins for the 2020 Ford Escape

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

To clear this DTC using the FDRS, select and run the PSCM - Reset the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) application. Once cleared, cycle the ignition. Reprogram the PSCM using the latest version of FDRS. It is not recommended that a battery charger be installed and running on the vehicle when the ignition is cycled. For claiming, use causal part 3C529 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 489622020-08-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with the 1.5L and an 8F24 transmission may exhibit a light to moderate buzz/sizzle/rattle noise heard while seated in the driver's seat. This noise can be heard under moderate to heavy acceleration (2500-4000rpm) and radiates from the lower left side of the dash panel. This may be due to the manual park release cable internal steel cable rattling against the plastic covering. Disconnecting the cable from the transmission will aid in determining if the manual park release cable is the cause. If it has been determined that the cable is the cause of the condition, use updated service parts LX6Z-7D246-N and LX6Z-7D246-L to correct this condition.

If this DTC is detected during pre-delivery inspection (PDI) or while diagnosing unrelated conditions, it should be disregarded.
SSM 489312020-07-07. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE. Some 2020 Escape vehicles built on 24-Sep-2019 and through 15-Jun-2020 may exhibit a condition where the interior A-pillar trim panel appears to be out of position and/or the edge of the headliner is exposed near the top of the interior A-pillar trim panel. Inform customers that Ford is developing a new A-pillar trim panel to remedy this cosmetic issue. The new part is expected to be available in August 2020 and a TSB will be published at that time. 20B14-S22020-06-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE; STEERING. Updated Technical Information for Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) reset after PCM reprogram. Unplugging the PSCM is no longer required as new FDRS service function is available. In some of the affected vehicles, the customer may experience limited powertrain acceleration and speed along with a “Stop Safely Now message and a check engine light displayed in the instrument cluster. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0340 and P1A0C may be present in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This is due to crankshaft and camshaft signal quality during start up, resulting in incorrect synchronization and the inability of the engine to produce the requested torque. SERVICE
