Service bulletins for the 2020 Ford Escape
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
291 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| TSB 21-2120 | 2021-05-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine built on or Before 21-Jul-2020 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to various strategies within the PCM software. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the crankcase ventilation tube assembly and reprogram the PCM. |

| TSB 21-2024 | 2021-02-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This article supersedes TSB 21-2007 to update the Service Procedure. Some 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the crankcase ventilation tube assembly and reprogram the PCM. |
| TSB 21-2007 | 2021-02-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to replace the crankcase ventilation tube assembly and reprogram the PCM. |
| SSM 48848 | 2020-06-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2020 Escape vehicles built on or after 10-Jan-2020, equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with only diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P04DB in the powertrain control module (PCM). If this DTC is retrieved with other DTCs, diagnose those first. Engineering data has confirmed that DTC P04DB is typically a green engine and/or low mileage concern that will not repeat if a crankcase ventilation system concern is not present. Inspect the crankcase ventilation tube at the rear air intake system connection for a partial disconnect. If the crankcase ventilation tube is not disconnected and no concern is identified after performing Powertrain Control and Emission Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual pinpoint test HG, clear the DTC using the appropriate Ford scan tool and return the vehicle to the customer. |
