Service bulletins for the 2015 Audi A6
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A641433 2029714- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 64 number 12-22 dated July 5, 2012. After one or both of the front door control units (J386/J387) is replaced, one or both of the rear door control units (J3888/J389) cannot be coded or parameterized via an SVM specified vs. actual comparison (spec/actual). The parameter data in the software coding container has changed for the front and rear door control units. As a result, an SVM code is required to update the parameter data for any replacement control unit. Simply running an SVM spec/actual will not code nor update the parameter data in the new replacement control unit. A hardware change suggestion will be provided when an SVM spec/actual is executed. An additional hardware replacement is not required. |
| A911437 2030947- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-92 dated July 16, 2013. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone receives the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call because it assumes that the phone is not responding. |
| A911436 2027903- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-55 dated August 13, 2012. The phone book is not downloaded to the vehicle. Vehicles with MMI 3G+ are affected. |
| A171449 2028440- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 12-26 dated January 20, 2012. When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer. |
| A911427 2036575- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). The addresses and contacts stored in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus disappear intermittently in vehicles with MMI3G+ Navigation, and in vehicles with or without Audi connect. Intermittently, the MMI system does not appear to remember that the user's myAudi PIN has already been entered, and it requires the user to enter the PIN again in vehicles with Audi connect. If a user stores addresses and contacts in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus while a Bluetooth phone is paired to the vehicle, those addresses and contacts will only be visible any time that the same phone is paired to the vehicle. Any time that the same phone is not paired to the vehicle, the addresses and contacts will not be available. If a user stores addresses and contacts in the Navigation >> Favorites, Navigation >> Directory, and Navigation >> Last destinations submenus while a Bluetooth phone is not paired to the vehicle, the addresses and contacts will be available any time. In vehicles with Audi connect, the user is prompted to enter the myAudi PIN when selecting online destinations or when importing contacts from the myAudi account. If the user?s Bluetooth phone (the same phone that was paired to the vehicle when the PIN was entered initially) is paired to the vehicle, the user will not be prompted to re-enter the PIN after it has been entered. |
| A941432 2017806- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BACK UP LIGHTS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 13-19 dated May 23, 2013. The light bulb warning light is displayed in the instrument cluster with the ?Vehicle lights: malfunction? message. DTCs are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module. Exterior lights are functioning properly. If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position and remains there, the light bulb warning light and the error message appear after approximately ten seconds. Once displayed, the message turns off after approximately five seconds. The light bulb warning light turns off only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 or DTC 01800 are changed to sporadic. After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTCs are automatically cleared. |
| A911419 2026895- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11-16 dated October 5, 2011. | A011463 2033630- | 2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-86 dated April 15, 2013. The MIL is on. There is a rough idle. DTCs are stored in the ECM. Engine may have reduced performance without significant loss of power or stalling. Because there are a number of different misfire faults (unrelated to ignition coil operation) that could cause the MIL to illuminate, proper Guided Fault Finding (GFF) misfire diagnosis must be followed before any ignition coils are replaced. |
| A741315 2035757- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; SEATS. Customer may complain that the seat pneumatics (side bolsters and lumbar support) actuate without any input from the customer. This condition can occur when the vehicle is driven at high altitudes or when the outside temperature fluctuates. DTCs may be present in the front seat pneumatics control modules, J873 and J872 (address words 88 and 89) or in the rear seat pneumatics control modules (in certain A8 models only), J875 and J874 (address words 8A and 8D). No leak is present. There is a software issue in the seat pneumatics control modules that causes the seat pneumatics to automatically actuate in high altitudes (change in air pressure) or in fluctuating temperatures in order to maintain pressure. |

When the vehicle is started, the GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the MMI navigation map does not match the vehicle?s actual location or direction of travel for a long period of time (often as long as 10 minutes). The issue occurs in open sky, with no large buildings obstructing the sky view. The issue is intermittent, but it can occur for long periods of time during a single day. The issue typically happens on very warm days when the HVAC system blower is at a medium to high setting (auto or manual), with air being directed out of the panel vents. When the issue occurs, the GPS navigation system satellite reception shows 0 satellites. Due to the infrequency of the issue, this might not be verifiable. (To view the number of satellites being received, go to Nav >> Route >> Select Current Position (first item in list) and scroll up. No DTCs related to the GPS antenna or MMI system are present. The vehicle is an A4 (including S4 and allroad variants), A5 (including Cabriolet, S5, and RS 5 variants), A6 (including S6 variant), A7 (including S7/RS 7 variants), A8 (including long wheelbase, S8, or W12 variants) or Q5 (including SQ5 and hybrid variants). Q7 and Q3 vehicles are not affected by this condition. The failure can happen at start-up or while the vehicle is being driven. The issue typically starts when the vehicle is driven on curvy or circular roads, driven in circles (such as when driven around a parking lot), or driven on or off an expressway. |
