Service bulletins for the 2014 Ram 3500

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

573 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

90033572019-07-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT. ADAPTER, Engine Oil Filter (Pentastar V6) Engineering is seeking information regarding OFA leaks. Questions/info can be directed to: Bob Jackson (248) 944-0466 - bob.jackson@fcagroup.com Ron Dallison (248-292-9510) ron.dallison@fcagroup.com Joe Lovell (734) 309-6467 - joe.lovell@fcagroup.com If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair. All vehicles equipped with a 3.2L or 3.6L except for model year 2014 vehicles with leak concern: 1) Ensure the Oil Filter Adapter (OFA) Cap O-ring is seated in the proper groove in the cap and not damaged or cut. 2) If replacing the (OFA) due to a leak detected between (OFA) and block. Ensure the torque on the 5 bolts are torqued to 12nm. If not record the actual values, torque to 12nm and contact the FCA employees listed below. 3) Remove the (OFA) and replace the O-ring and gaskets only (Kit #68191356A$), NOT THE OFA. 4) If oil was drained, add oil dye to ensure the leak is repaired. For model year 2014 vehicles replace the Oil Filter Adaptor.

09-002-152018-12-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Knocking Noise From Engine After Sitting Overnight This bulletin involves evaluating the engine for cold start knocking noise typically after an overnight cold soak. Some engines during this build period may have been built with incorrect piston wrist pins. The wrist pins will cause an audible knocking noise upon start up. The knocking noise will typically reduce after approximately 30 minutes of idle time. Engine replacement will be required. Some customers may comment they hear an audible knocking noise coming form the engine after start up for approximately 30 minutes. This only occurs after cold start when the vehicle has been sitting over night.
