Service bulletins for the 2013 Nissan Altima
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| NTB14109 | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. SERVICE INFORMATION Starting with 2010 Model Year, Nissan vehicles have been gradually incorporating a new type of DTC known as Permanent DTC or P-DTC. If a vehicle is equipped with P-DTCs, all emission related DTCs will also set a P-DTC if the MIL is turned ON. A listing of which DTCs that will also set a P-DTC is found in the DTC Index in the EC-Engine Control section of the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). If a DTC repair is performed and the DTC erased, a vehicle may fail an Emission Inspection and Maintenance test if the P-DTC is not also erased. See this bulletin for further detail. |
| NTB14107 | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SERVICE INFORMATION If a customer describes lack of power or poor acceleration, perform the following checks before attempting any repair: * Check for stored DTCs. * Check if the driver is resting their left foot on the brake pedal while accelerating. Advise the customer not to rest their foot on the brake while accelerating. * Use CONSULT-III plus in Engine Data Monitor to check operation of the brake lamp circuit signal. Monitor the brake switch during the incident; it should be "OFF". Please see this bulletn for further details. |
| NTB10066A | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. SERVICE INFORMATION Related to communication codes U1000, U1001, U1002, U1010: - Always diagnose the communication codes first. - When a module reports a U1000 code, it is typically operating normally; however, there is a communication error external to that module on the CAN network. - U1000 indicates an error. V-CAN diagram or CAN Diag Support Monitor provides data to determine the location of the error. See this bulletin for more information. |
| NTB14049 | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. IF YOU CONFIRM: The customer states the following: - While driving, the audio setting in the Vehicle Information Display (VID) is blank while displaying normally in the audio unit. - All other items in the VID display normally i.e. temperature, MPG, etc. - Items above and below the VID display normally i.e. DTE, gear selection, etc. - The issue occurs with the ignition ON or the engine running. - The audio setting normally displays in the combination meter with the audio system on. NOTE: With the ignition in the ACC position, the audio display will go off after approximately 5 seconds. This is normal. ACTION: Replace the combination meter assembly with the one listed in PARTS INFORMATION. NOTE: Do NOT replace the audio unit or any other related parts for this issue, if it should occur. See this bulletin for further detail. |
| NTB13017B | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. IF YOU CONFIRM: The customer is experiencing a noise coming from the passenger side engine compartment and The source of the noise is confirmed to be the Hydraulic Electric Power Steering (H-EPS) and The noise is louder than the normal operational noise of the H-EPS. Notes: - Some operational noise from the front of the vehicle generated by the H-EPS is normal when the steering wheel is operated. - Comparing the incident vehicle to a "known good vehicle" will help determine if the H-EPS noise is louder than normal. ACTION: Refer to the Repair Flow Chart on page 2. See this bulletin for further detail. |

| NTB13107 | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. SERVICE INFORMATION Intelligent Key (I-Key) systems on the Applied Vehicles use two (2) different Radio Frequencies (RF) that are similar to other wireless devices; 315 MHz and 433 MHz. In the event another wireless device (e.g. aftermarket alarm system) is transmitting at the same time as an I-Key, it can interfere with the I-Key signals being received by the BCM. If there is interference with I-Key signals, the following symptoms may occur: - The I-key is not detected, causing: - The engine to not start (no response when the Stop/Start button is pressed) - "I-Key System Error" displayed in the instrument cluster - "No I-Key Detected" displayed in the instrument cluster - Intermittent operation of the buttons on the remote (Key FOB). - Intermittent operation of the door request switches. If a vehicle has experienced the above symptoms, or a customer has reported the above symptoms, refer to Supplemental Diagnosis / Information in this bulletin. See this bulletin for further detail. |
| NTB13104 | 2021-05-10. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. IF YOU CONFIRM: All functions of an Applied Vehicle's remotes will not work after the doors have been locked and the BCM goes into "sleep mode" (about 15-20 minutes). ALL of the following MUST be verified in the given order: 1. All remote functions do not work after the BCM goes into "sleep mode". 2. All remote functions will work again after pressing one of the request switches on the vehicle. 3. The issue (all remote functions do not work) repeats after the BCM goes back into "sleep mode" again. 4. Remote signal strength checks OK with Signal Tech II. ACTION: 1. ALL of the four steps above MUST be verified in the given order for this bulletin to apply. 2. If the issue has been verified as stated above, replace the BCM. See this bulletin for further detail. |
