Service bulletin NTB12097A
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
IF YOU CONFIRM The customer states one or more of the following is occurring: -- While tuned to an XM® satellite radio channel, "Loading" displays on the screen while driving in a clear signal area with no overhead obstructions. > No sound is output from the speakers while this occurs. > All other audio modes (AM/FM/CD/AUX) work properly. > The "Loading" message goes away and sound returns when the ignition is cycled OFF and back ON. NOTE: This incident, if it should occur, may be intermittent. -- With a device connected via USB, issues are experienced when switching audio modes. For example, a blank screen may appear when switching from CD mode to iPod mode. -- While using Pandora mode, display and/or counter issues are experienced. For example, album art may be missing and/or the counter may stay at zero or not update. NOTE: - The Pandora App must be open and running on the device and connected via USB to use Pandora mode. - The iPod mode will not be available when the Pandora App is open and running on the device. Turn off the Pandora App to access iPod mode. ACTION Install the software update per the Service Procedure in this bulletin. See this bulletin for further detail.

| NTB23-049 | 2023-07-11. Service bulletin. 12 VOLT BATTERY TESTING FOR IN-SERVICE VEHICLES SERVICE INFORMATION The following Service Information lists NNA procedural recommendations for establishing good connections while performing 12V battery testing. These recommendations are expected to promote uniformity during the connection process, therefore reducing the number of incorrect “Test with DCA” and “Replace” results. HINT: If 12 volt batteries are allowed to discharge for a prolonged period of time, battery life may be drastically reduced. This condition may lead to premature battery replacement and customer dissatisfaction. IMPORTANT: • CPX-900 is now an accepted testing tool to use along with or in place of the DSS-5000 • CPX-900 operating instructions are found at: https://nissancpx900.midtronics.com/ • DSS-5000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandss5000.midtronics.com/ • DCA-8000 is now a required testing tool to be used for all warranty replacement decisions. The DCA-8000 is also a more efficient charger than previously available, and will charge any available 12 volt lead acid battery safely and accurately as long as all precautions and inputs are made correctly. The DCA-8000 operating instructions are found at: https://nissandca8000.midtronics.com/ |

| PC857_PM997 2013 | 2022-03-15. Service bulletin. Oxygen Sensor Voltage Inspection Warranty Extension Dealer Announcement: In the interest of customer satisfaction, Nissan is providing a limited warranty extension to certain MY2013-2016 Nissan Altima 2.5L (SULEV and 50 states emissions) and certain MY2013-2016 Nissan Sentra vehicles (50 states only) to allow for annual rear oxygen sensor voltage checks, upon request, to determine if a rear oxygen sensor short-to-ground condition exists. If a rear oxygen sensor short-to ground condition exists, Nissan will inspect and repair or replace, as necessary, the sensor or wiring and remedy any diagnostic trouble codes that may have been masked by a failure to detect a possible rear oxygen (O2) sensor short to ground (SCG) condition. If those DTCs are first found only after a short-to-ground repair, the Limited Emission Warranty extension will cover the costs of parts and labor to inspect and repair the corresponding issue(s). Affected vehicles may fail to detect the rear oxygen (O2) sensor short circuit to ground (SCG). Undetected SCG may result in failure to pass emissions testing. Owners of eligible vehicles will receive a notification indicating their eligibility for the following: •Annual rear oxygen sensory voltage check during the extended warranty coverage •Limited warranty extension for the rear oxygen sensor to 20 years/200,000 miles (whichever occurs first) What Dealers Should Do: 1.Verify if vehicles are eligible for this limited Warranty Extension using the warranty extension page of Service Comm. 2.Dealers should perform a voltage check and, if necessary, remedy any eligible vehicles subject to this warranty extension to ensure customer satisfaction using NTB22-007. 3.The service department should submit the applicable warranty claim for the action(s) performed. |
