Service bulletins for the 2017 MINI Clubman
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A creaking noise is heard from the front end of the vehicle while cornering (predominantly left turns) under the following conditions: Driving In 1st or 2nd gear; While coasting or accelerating; with an Outside ambient temperature that is below 10C (50F); and After engine warm-up, the ambient temperature of engine compartment may exceed 10C (50F) even though the outside temperature is still below 10C (50F). Noise cannot be reproduced during straight-ahead driving. |
| M120117 | 2018-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. MIL IS ON WITH FAULT CF0486 STORED IN THE EGS MODULE. The Service Engine Soon (MIL) light is on. The following fault is stored in the AISIN EGS module: z CF0486: EGS,PT-CAN2: Line fault/electrical fault It is possible the following Check Control messages could be displayed: z Engine fault! Power loss (CCM ID 29) z Drive faulty! (CCM ID 419) - The transmission is in the emergency program and the engine is running with reduced power. This fault occurs sporadically when the ignition is turned on or the engine started. Unfavorable DME software Only vehicles at the following I-levels are affected: z F056-16-03-50x or F056-16-07-50x. |
| M120117 | 2018-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. ? MIL IS ON WITH FAULT CF0486 STORED IN THE EGS MODULE . The Service Engine Soon (MIL) light is on. The following fault is stored in the AISIN EGS module: ? CF0486: EGS,PT-CAN2: Line fault/electrical fault It is possible the following Check Control messages could be displayed: ? Engine fault! Power loss (CCM ID 29) ? Drive faulty! (CCM ID 419) - The transmission is in the emergency program and the engine is running with reduced power. This fault occurs sporadically when the ignition is turned on or the engine started. Unfavorable DME software Only vehicles at the following I-levels are affected: ? | M110117 | 2018-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. "? FAULT 118002 - MIXTURE TOO RICH SETS DURING WINTER WITH COLD AMBIENT TEMPERATURES What's New: ? In the Warranty Information section: defect code, labor operations and additional information are updated . The Service Engine Soon (MIL) light is on with the following fault stored in the DME. ? Fault: 118002 - Mixture too rich In the situation being described, the fault is only stored during the ""cold winter months along with the use of winter fuel."" Various other causes for a rich mixture fault are possible and should not be overlooked. CAUSE ? DME software diagnostic is too sensitive ? This situation is most likely to occur if the driving profile is one of frequent cold engine starts and/or primarily short distance trips (idle / low load operation) where full engine operating temperature is not reached. ? Due to the lower engine oil temperatures crankcase vapors that contain a higher fuel content are not completely drawn off via the crankcase ventilation system. ? A false DME adaptation routine could then lead to this fault being set." |
