Service bulletins for the 2017 MINI Clubman

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

139 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

M6602202020-08-31. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; SERVICE BRAKES; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. KAFAS (CAMERA-BASED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS) LIMITATIONS: KAFAS camera-based assistance system (without radar) is not operating up to customer expectations. Customers can report system errors such as: Vehicle equipped with camera-based ACC, brakes without apparent reason and then does not accelerate When ACC is active, the vehicle does not brake, although it is obvious it should brake; or it even accelerates KAFAS system deactivates independently, due to system limitations that are not clear to the customer KAFAS system cannot be activated due to system limitations that are not clear to the customer When accelerating from a standstill, the vehicle does not automatically start in "Follow mode" Road signs are sporadically not detected Lane departure warning sporadically fails to function For the situations described in this service information bulletin that pertain to normal system limitations, ISTA diagnosis does not show any relevant fault codes stored.
M6102202020-04-27. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING; SUSPENSION; ENGINE; SERVICE BRAKES. CHECK CONTROL MESSAGES FOR BRAKE SUSPENSION AND AIR BAG SYSTEM MALFUNCTION: Multiple check control messages (CCM) can display for brake suspension and air bag system malfunction. The customer may also complain about any of the following: Engine can no longer be switched off Drive position (D) cannot be engaged on the gear selector switch (GWS) Reduction of steering assist After an engine emergency shut-off (either a prolonged long press; or 3 consecutive short presses of the Start/Stop button) and the vehicle going to sleep (identifiable by the lighting of the "Start/Stop button") everything resumes normal functionality and the CCM messages no longer appear. When performing a vehicle test the following diagnostic fault codes are stored in the BDC: CD0420 - "error of Flexray controller on Flexray bus" D91FF9 - "Flexray message data drivetrain 2 (DT_PT_2): Timeout" This message may be read out in the ZGM control unit or Body Domain Controller CAUSE Software in the Body Domain Control unit (BDC).
M3402162018-11-13. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR/TONE RING. DRIVING STABILIZATION CONTROL FAILURE: ABS/DSC INSTRUMENT LAMPS LIT- DIAGNOSIS. 1. DSC's fault codes stored from two different wheel speed sensors (both front or both rear): 4809B0 - wheel speed sensor - front left - drive off recognition faulty and 4809CD - wheel speed sensor - front right - drive off recognition faultyor 4809B9 - wheel speed sensor - rear left - drive off recognition faultyand 480686 - wheel speed sensor - rear right - drive off recognition faulty. 2. Next ignition ON (after above codes stored). a) DME fault can occur:1F054D - drive, safety function: Drive power output reduced, DSC signals implausible and b) Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may light up. Faulty drive off recognition due to: a towing operation with a raised axle operation of the vehicle on the vehicle hoist operation of the vehicle on the roller test stand DSC diagnosis recognizes implausible wheel speeds, so no control is possible. DME fault is entered on safety grounds since the DSC fault still exists after a terminal change and may only be removed while driving.
M3401162018-11-13. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR/TONE RING. DRIVING STABILIZATION CONTROL FAILURE: ABS/DSC INSTRUMENT LAMPS LIT. ABS/DSC lamps lit in instrument cluster. Fault codes may be saved in the DSC control unit: 480AAD - wheel speed sensor - rear left - smoke monitoring 480AAC - wheel speed sensor - rear left - unexpected jump in the signal 4809B9 - wheel speed sensor - rear left - driving off recognition faulty 480716 - wheel speed sensor - rear left - plausibility: direction of rotation 4809B7 - wheel speed sensor - rear left - missing tooth 480719 - wheel speed sensor - rear right - plausibility: direction of rotation 480686 - wheel speed sensor - rear right - driving off recognition faulty 480AB3 - wheel speed sensor - rear right - unexpected jump in the signal 480AB4 - wheel speed sensor - rear right - smoke monitoring 4809C2 - wheel speed sensor - rear right - missing tooth Rear wheel pulse generator (wheel speed sensor) retaining screw is loose, missing or broken.
