Service bulletins for the 2019 Mazda Mazda3

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

827 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

09-037-19-36362019-10-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. Some customers may experience one or both of the following: The “Next Service Date” setting under Vehicle Status Monitor in the center display changes to “Manual” by itself after being set to “Automatic” and even with the “Manual” setting in the display, the internal calculation works as if set to “Automatic”. The “Engine oil change” message is then displayed when the oil deterioration level reaches the threshold. This is caused by a communication error between the PCM, BCM and CMU. The average fuel economy display in the instrument cluster gradually gets worse after 1,200 miles (2,000 km) of driving without a reset regardless of the actual driving situation. This concern is only present in the display and not in the actual fuel consumption. To correct these issues, the software of the BCM has been modified.

This concern occurs when the ambient temperature is within a certain range (approx. 16-25 C / 61-77 F). This is caused by the control software of the Dash-Electrical Supply Unit (Dash-ESU) not being appropriate for this specific situation. To correct this concern, the control software of the Dash-ESU has been modified.

SSPB62019-08-30. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. 2014-2016 Mazda3 – Mazda Connect Touch Screen Concern. Warranty Extension Program – Special Service Program (SSP) B6. Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a Special Service Program (SSP) to extend the warranty coverage for a concern regarding the Mazda Connect Center Display on certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles produced from June 11, 2013 through September 3, 2016. The warranty coverage for an applicable repair has been extended to 7 years (84 months) from the original warranty start date, with no mileage limitation. If you are a recipient of this notice, your vehicle is included in this warranty extension program. What is the problem? On certain 2014-2016 Mazda3 vehicles, the Mazda Connect touch screen in the center display may not accept touch commands properly or may operate by itself (ghost touch). The film inside the touch screen may be corroded due to moisture, which might adhere on the lens of the touch screen. This corrosion may cause the malfunction of the touch screen. This warranty extension program applies only to the repair of the center display with this concern.

It is most noticeable when the A/C is first turned ON. This odor is the result of mold growth in the A/C evaporator/cooling unit which is caused by condensation, dust, and pollen within the cooling unit. This condition is usually worse during high humidity conditions. "Mazda Air Cooling Coil Coating" is available to encapsulate the mold to reduce odors. If the product is properly applied, it can effectively reduce the musty/mildew odor for up to three years.
