Service bulletins for the 2017 Mazda Mazda3
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 09-011-18-3448 | 2018-04-23. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Some customers may complain of condensation/fog inside the front (headlamp/headlight) or rear (taillamp/taillight) combination lights. The recent new models have been fitted with a clear lens which can cause the symptom to be more noticeable, however, it does not affect the performance of the light. This condensation/fog is a natural phenomenon that occurs when there is a fairly large temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the light housing. It is normal for very small water drops to appear incertain locations on the light units where the air is stagnant (condensation), making the lens look whitish (fog). This happens mostly in the corners and narrow spaces, and will typically clear during warmer ambient temperatures, or when the lights have been on for some time. |

Some customers may complain that the Voice Recognition system does not recognize "Address" or "New Destination" navigation voice commands. This may be caused by faulty navigation SD card software. TheSD card has been updated to eliminate this concern. |
| 09-005-18-3414 | 2018-03-05. Service bulletin. SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:POWER ADJUST. Some vehicles may exhibit excessive operating noise when sliding the driver and/or passenger power seat(s) back and forth. The noise may be caused by cable vibration, which transmits power from the motor to the gears. The cable vibrates inside the cable casing due to inadequately wrapped fabric around the cable. To eliminate this concern, the power seat cable has been changed to a type that produces less friction and noise. |
| 15-001-18-3369 | 2018-03-05. Service bulletin. FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA. Some customers may experience the following symptom relating to the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC)with DTC C1001:92 [Forward sensing camera (FSC) poor field of view] stored in memory. When the visibility out the windshieldis poor (i.e. fog or raining at night), the following warning lights mayilluminate. Some customers may experience the MAZDA CONNECT rebooting or the screen turning black during coldtemperatures. The concern occurs when the interior of the vehicle is cold and disappears when the interiorwarms up. This is caused by some for the MAZDA CONNECT navigation system SD cards beingmanufactured with improper hardware, resulting in a data reading error during cold temperatures. To correctthe concern, the SD card hardware has been changed. |
| 02-001-18-3013h | 2018-03-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. Some vehicles may exhibit one or more of the following noises from the front suspension. A squeaking noise from the front shock absorber when turning the steering wheel at a vehicle standstill caused by stick-slip between the front strut bearing and the coil spring. A popping noise from the front shock absorber when passing over speed bumps caused by the bump stopper contacting the strut bearing when the shock absorber is compressed. A creaking noise from the lower arm when driving over road bumps at 20-40 km/h caused by stick- slip of the front lower arm bushing. The noise occurs when the road surface is wet or after a car washing, and becomes more noticeable as the speed bump gets higher. To correct these problems, the following changes have been made. For the squeaking and popping noise, the shape of the bump stopper has been modified and a protector has been installed onto the coil spring. For the creaking noise, the friction of the lower arm bushing has been reduced by adding a dry coating. |
