Service bulletins for the 2024 Mazda CX-90

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Some customers may complain that the power liftgate may open unintentionally at a stop or while parking. This may be caused by the power liftgate button in the remote transmitter being pressed unintentionally in a pocket or a bag. To help with this concern, the control software of the Body Control Module (BCM) has been modified to optimize the operation parameter for the power liftgate button in the remote transmitter. NOTE: The operation itself is same as before (hold the power liftgate button to open).
09-034-232023-11-01. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER; STRUCTURE. Some customers may complain about water leaks around the overhead console. SA-047-232023-09-03. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL. Some vehicles may exhibit poor hands-free liftgate operation after a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch accessory installation. IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a CX-90 equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch.
SA-045-23a2023-09-03. Service bulletin. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; STRUCTURE; STRUCTURE:BODY:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE. Some customers may report the liftgate rattles or clunks and the sound is coming from the latch. This is due to the coating from the lock striker scratching off due to repeated opening/closing of the liftgates. To eliminate the noise, the grease coating from the latch must be completely removed.

SA-036-232023-07-05. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE; EQUIPMENT. Interior parts made of resin have antistatic coating to prevent dust from sticking on the surfaces, and depending on the conditions of use, the antistatic components may crystallize slightly, giving an appearance of white stains on the surface. To remove the stains, wipe the stained surface with a towel soaked with water mixed with a small portion of a neutral detergent. If the white stains reappear again, simply wipe them again in the same way. NOTE: The antistatic effect does not deteriorate with this procedure.
